sorry guys this one is pretty hard if you arent a huge fight fan like me. FF, by your own definition I think the photo may be a little too esoteric. I'd give it a couple of more hours, and then if you have something else that might appeal to a somewhat more general crowd, by all means post it. Signor V.

At first I thought it was: ...but the hairline seems off, and I can't find this pic for him. Hmmm...
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

he played a big role in some major events in the 20th century, including a major conflict and later a "race" between two major adversaries. Hmmmm.... a major conflict could be war. "Conflict" could refer to the Korean War. A "race" between two adversaries may refer to the U.S. and Russia space race. Regardless, I don't recognize the face.

This man(as a younger man in the image)was one of the greatest minds of the 20th century, with over 100 patents and he won countless awards including the John Scott Award for improving the "comfort, welfare, and happiness of human kind" in a significant way.. Didnt wanna make my first attempt to hard..

Guglielmo Marconi?
He seems to fit the overall description.
Signor V.
