Aside from the 5 families and new jeresy. Do you think famlies stay in contact with each other? For example do the genovese and chicago outfit know each other and have business deals or Boston and philly ect..

Tbh I'm not sure how much contact the Families have between each other. What's for sure is that the New York Families talk all the time, but only when it suits them- joint operations, splitting money on scams etc.
I wouldn't think there would be a whole lot of talk between Chicago and New York because it's so different the way things are now. Plus distance is a factor too.
One of the things I think the Sopranos accurately portrayed was the contact between New Jersey and New York. I'm sure they split rackets in North Jersey quite often.
But as far as what I know, much is speculation Nicky.

They don't split anything. Everyone's grabbing what they can and the Decavalcantes aren't getting much in recent years.

They don't work together they are all independent.

The Five Families are still in communication with Philly as the Skins info shows. Obviously Jersey and Philly would be in contact since they share some turf. I'm guessing the same with some NY families and the Patriarca family.

The Sopranos bent the truth even in that aspect. Yes jersey and new york discussed buisness together however new york was much more powerful over jersey as opposed to what they portray in the sopranos

I'd guess the DeCalvacante crew may discuss business ( if they're involved in anything with NY ) through the 5 families respective Nj crews . I agree with Philly being in contact still possibly the Patriarca also but i doubt Chicago are still communicating with NY.

In the past the families were in contact between each other all the time,you have a lot examples like when Massino made a hit on the 3 capos,one crew was ment to do the hit,other crew was ment for the clean up and other's for the burial(the gambinos)and many many more examples,the chicago outfit was always connected with the NY families,they even shared rackets,remember the windows case?....but todays mob,i dunno,maybe they are still in contact but not so often

even so there were implications that suggest how small sopranos was. carmine the boss didnt eeven know who paulie was when paulie introduced himself. and wasnt nj getting killed in the nj/ny war? half their leadership was killed. i think its cus tony soprano was a good assertive boss pple get this idea. i doubt in real life new jersey mobsters are yes sir no sir to ny mobsters altho i wouldnt know

Personally i don't think was a good boss throughout the series at all. He always strung out all the major decisions he had to make like Vito,Jackie jr and Tony B which were contributing factors in the war with NY which could have been avoided had he dealt with them right away

Speaking of the gambinos the feds got those tapes on their Imac air book the Nicky Skins tape, he must of been a good actor (social Path) to con that many families he was pushing 70 he did the right thing killing the guy who rated him out and killing himself If I were in his situation I probably would said to my family here's all the insurance paperwork I took out a policy on my life I been planning this...play dumb...screw everyone again

I think if business can be done and everyone profit, the families interact. If not, I don't think they go out of the way to take in a ball game.

They all use to some together for weddings and funerials...The Gotti jr. wedding list was very impressive...

The way I figure I that all the remaining families in the country with the possible exception of Chicago, Have some sort of working relationship or contact with NY cuz it's kinda the national HQ but not necessarily with eachother for example: In the 90's Philly was directly involved with NE and even had a crew up there, Nowadays there worlds apart
