Right on Camarel. The only difference is that I'd put them most viable after New York, but they are only slightly above NJ, Philly and NE. Chicago is one of the most corrupt cities in the USA, so the mob makes money, and they have a full administration. But in terms of power they don't come close to New York.

I think it has to do with the feds priorities at the moment. The Colombos are considered weak, the Genoveses are not. So the feds are targeting rather the weaker Families than the stronger ones at the moment, in order to get the headlines. This apply to the NY Families.
There doesn´t seeem to be any FBI priotities targeting the other Families outside NY, Boston and Philly. And for a good reason. Those Families, including the Chicago outfit, are considered as extremely weak, if not defunct.

Actually, by the most recent estimates, the New England, Philadelphia, and Chicago families are all comparable in size. Philadelphia is pretty much a street operation now but New England, like Chicago, does have some labor union involvement.
