So I wanna ask you, as I saw on one interview the guy said - "Most of the bad guys in our neighburhood who were bad guys and killers, paid a lot of rents, they were a good people". So that's not bad if everything stays "just business". I mean in a deep level like in the Sopranos - if you take care of your family provide for everything, are you a bad man? This example is also in Breaking Bad - a good man becomes criminal to provide for his family - is he then bad, or he realizes that he must leave something to his children? Where's the line between being criminal as a living, and being bad as a perosn?

I think if one commits petty crimes for survival, like stealing food etc, he/she is not a bad person, but if somebody can survive without committing crimes, but still does it, then this person can't be justified, no matter if he/she cares for the family. Crimes can have extenuating circumstances, of course, like when you kill out of despair somebody who slaughtered your family and the law doesn't help you, but we are talking about the mafia, this is different. In the mafia, even vengeance always has to do with power struggle and money.

Not everyone becomes a gangster out of poverty. Some people who become criminals had good upbringings, but may have been bullied badly when they were kids. They can struggle their entire life searching for respect or even for being feared by other people. In the end these people can become criminals, petty criminals but often also organized criminals.
All this is not justifiable, but when you look deep into the human psyche it is 'understandable'.
In the end most people have some redeeming values, even mobsters.

For me there are two kinds of gangsters,"robin hood" g's and realy BAD G's....the robin hood kind(very rare kind)usualy steals from the rich(robbin banks,rich mansions,rich ppl credit cards and other stuff)and then gives to the poor(churches,children homes,places with poor ppl...)and the same time provides for his family and friends(rents,food and other supplies)and most of em come from poor families....the other kind of g's(very often kind)that are doin murder(some even enjoy murder),narc.trafficking,weapons trafficking,nuclear garbage disposal,backstabbing,they usually dont care about the ppl around em,they only care about money and....money,nothing else,and they also most of em come from poor families,so for me there isnt much diference,it depends on the person,but at the end usually the two kinds end up at the same places and thats jail or six feet under the ground.As Dwalin2011 sad "but if somebody can survive without committing crimes, but still does it, then this person can't be justified,no matter if he/she cares for the family."Crime is a crime.

Although these people are seen as bad and wrong, to me although I have never met or had contact with any of these people, I just feel that they are all humans, we are all humans and we all care about ourselves more than anyone else in the world really (Besides family) but we usually look out for Me and that's priority number one in most cases before anyone else. Greed and dominance over people and power are human factors that have been seen throughout history and is simply in our nature. Whilst more of us can often keep that on a low level, some people simply can't or don't want to. To me there is no Right and wrong in this world, only laws put in place to try and make our lives safer and better.
