I was curious myself, since Al has had so many relationships with various women over the years.

According to THIS BIOGRAPHY , his relationship with actress Diane Keaton was over after GF III, as was his relationship with the actress Marthe Keller, but it seems to imply that his next relationship, with actress Carol Kane, hadn't begun yet.

So to answer your question: I don't know.

In my "forum philosophy," one need not know THE answer. I welcome speculation, links, and musings of what the answer could be. If we only posted what we know definitively then it wouldn't make for a very lively message board.

It's especially helpful when people reveal what they read or heard on a topic and where they read it (if possible). It still may not provide the definitive answer, but it adds fuel to the fire (or in other words, more stuff to debate about). So it was with interest that I read the biography link you provided.

I see, as you wrote, that by the time of Scarface Carol Kane hadn't yet started. Diane Keaton was on-and-off, but amicably split after GF III. But I gathered from the bio that Marthe Keller wasn't history until after Revolution (1985)... so maybe it was her?

Now that means they would have been a couple from 1977 to 1983. Hmmm, I wonder if that's possible. Has he ever had an exclusive relationship that lasted that long?

For some reason I am thinking actress Debra Winger.

Maybe the Pacino experts, Afs & Lavinia can help us out here.

It was not Marthe Keller, their relationship begun after 1977 “Bobby Deerfield” and it did not last long, certainly not until 1983. At this time Al had another romance already, with Tuesday Weld, his co-star in 1982 “Author! Author!”.

Thank you for the contribution, JustMe. Yes, Al Pacino's bio does mention a romance with Tuesday Weld.

But the timing doesn't add up, according to the biography link plawrence provided:
If Tuesday Weld was history before Author! Author! (1982) then she couldn't have been around during Scarface (1983).

So the mystery continues ...

Christina is right. Pacino and Weld were not together during the period that she is looking at.

My money is on Debra Winger.

I'd never heard that. She was gorgeous on TV playing Thalia Menninger, Dobie Gillis' great love in the early 60's.

I can't say that this fan-biography is absolutely trustworthy. Don't remember where, but I certainly found mistakes on that site...
There's a mention of his romance with Quinlan in some sources, but I have not the smallest idea when this one took place.

well of his romances (from the site DC provided) I'd definitly say Tuesday Weld was by far the best looking.
