I am declaring myself the new boss(moderator), from here on out. If anybody is having a problem, come to me. If people want to argue all day whether the chin or Salerno were the boss, you're free to do so. If SC tries to boss anyone around, ignore him. I am the new sheriff in town. Don't prefer me by name, either...call me "papers". Capice?

SC ran to "RealDeal" when he seen me here. Trust me, he wont be coming around here again, Joe. Capice? Now that I got you attention, bring up some articles for me on this Phily trial, Capice?
Carmela, is that Pink? this had me doubling up. First off, I'm Irish kay? Second off, theres Philly threads with articles in them already go check them out. But I doubt you'll be around here much longer to enjoy them

Probably a Real Deal poster who is bored cause that board is getting crappier everyday. Can't blame ya. hahahahaha, it's GangsterBB with older man with a more social club feel. This is more stoop like.

Who is this tool?
Some of these morons that come on here make me wonder. Should we make this an invitation only site? This has been brought up before, and I ordinarily post something like, It's Geoff's site and that we shouldn't even bring it up publicly without pm'ing him first. But I'm starting to think that it's not a bad idea. And if not, at least have a strict probabtion period for new members.

Or why not let the new members introduce themselves to the siteowners, before signing on, and tell a little bit about themselves. Why they are here, which aspects of orginized crime thay are interested in, how the interest was born etc. That way, I think, it will be easier to seperate the nutcases from the serious posters who wants to join.

I know I'm not a regular poster, but I think this would be a terrible idea. I have followed on the site for a couple years now, and even though I have only posted a handful of times, I still access the site daily. I enjoy the new topics as well as the older ones. I tried to get on RD a few years back, not with any intention of posting, but just to follow along but its "Closed Books" policy wouldn't allow me to even browse. Now that I have found this site I have no reason to even check RD to see if the books will ever be opened again. Just know that not every new member is an idiot. The knowledge base many of you have on this site is amazing and, in my opinion, should be shared with all who are interested. All in all I don't care what is decided because I'm already in, but just wanted to let some of you "vets" know that you just because not all people post daily like you doesn't mean they aren't enjoying it just as much. Sorry if I overstepped my bounds, now carry on and continue to inform me

For what it's worth - This is the only message board style site I check regularly and post in occasionally. I am a member of the Real Deal and most of the knowledgable posters over there also post here (some have the same usernames and some you can just tell based upon their writing style and position on various issues). I find the format here to be much more desireable and have completely stopped logging onto the Real Deal.
That being said, I don't understand how MANY threads seem to devolve into childish name-calling. I don't mind the back and forth arguing on relevant issues (i.e. Gamms and Ivy) since it forces people to really lay out their reasons for saying/thinking X, Y or Z.

I kinda like that idea. I don't post on here much. But I'll openly discuss my interests when it comes to organized crime topics. I've got a rather peculiar obsession with tracking down the graves of "reputed" mobsters. Its pretty much another dimension of doing research.

Are we sure we haven't seen this Tony fellow before? I mean, he already knew who SC was.

The amount of detailed OC information found on the RD site is unmatched. The pubilished OC authors make the site what it is. Also, if you never had the opportunity to read any of Pic's posts, you missed out. His 'Frankie The Fly' post is a classic, and is still being read. It is several years old. This site also has its merits, and is very entertaining. Both sites have back and forth bickering, unfortunately. I use peruse both sites daily.
