Kind of a cool collection of gambling photographs by the Trib. Only things that jump out at me featuring Outfit people is the picture of Teddy Roe, who Giancana greatly admired but ultimately had killed.

At the risk of libeling them, I would assume the Manno brothers were Outfit related, but I can't find anything at the moment about them.

My friend who is a professional photographer was telling me how, I guess it was in the 60s or 70s, everyone switched to a different way of developing photos that is far less expensive but is not capable of capturing the detail or richness that older photos had.

It sounded somewhat analogous to recording music digitally (at least at standard bit rates): The sound is not anywhere as good as a CD, but it's so fast, so cheap and so convenient, that the lost quality becomes a moot point.

So, when you see an old photo and think it looks better, oftentimes that is not just you being nostalgic or sentimental, it really does look better.

Manno Brothers were indeed with the Outfit. Former 42s who ran a lot of rackets on the North Side with Ross Prio.

Pat Manno's son Carmen married one of Sam Giancana's daughters. That son (Carl) was one of the driving forces behind the Vegas mob museum.

Great post and pics. Funny how none of the pics are from Cicero, probably because there was never a raid in Cicero.

Best way to catch the smart ones? Get an idiot working for them.

Pat Manno was a made guy and operated on the South Side. His brothers were soldiers in his franchise. He was NOT with the North side Crew of Ross Prio.
