My grandfather always liked to half-joke that Al Capone was his 'cousin'. I found out that Al Capone's mother came from Angri, in Campania, where my grandfather's father immigrated from at the turn of the century.

I'm wondering two things:

1) How small, population wise, was Angri around 1900?

2) Is it possible my grandfather's "joke" was actually true, that there was some relation?

Can't answer the first question, but to answer the second would take some genealogical research. If you pm me maybe I can help you. I have years of experience doing family history research.
