Italian Judges Removing Teen Boys From Mafia Families To Break Criminal CycleThree generations of imbeciles are enough. In a bid to break the 'Ndrangheta which passes down the criminal life from father to son Italian judges increasingly are removing teen boys from their Mafia families as reported by Alan Johnston for BBC News. Roberto di Bella, president of the juvenile court in Reggio Calabria where the 'Ndrangheta has its stronghold, says "the court began focusing more on the children of well-known mafia families aged around 14 or 15 who had 'started to acquire the mafiosi mentality,'" and "so far about 15 of these teenagers -- the great majority of them boys -- have been taken away from their relatives and placed in care homes." Di Bella "expects a lot more youngsters will be removed from Calabrian mafiosi families in the months and years to come, and that the programme may be replicated elsewhere in Italy." Last September an Italian appellate court affirmed the removal of three children from a family with reputed ties to the Bellocco clan from the 'Ndrangheta or Calabrian Mafia after their mother allegedly was pressured by relatives into committing suicide for becoming an informant as reported by Michael Day for The Independent: "the appeal judges spoke of the 'urgent need to remove the three children from the family setting permeated by underworld values, tribal loyalties and a distorted sense of honour and respect." http://bitterqueen.typepad.com/friends_o...inal-cycle.html

I suggest they take the kids away from known mobsters when thier babies or toddlers, ur not being good parents bringing your kids up in that environment, they should do it over here. If you wait until thier teenagers the damage is done, they will sneak and see thier parents. (Not rooting for either side just love to see a goid fight)

(Not rooting for either side just love to see a goid fight) If that is the case in Italy/Sicily, half of babies would be taken away. It's not like over here where kids think they're getting into the life for money, etc. Over there, they are born into their mafia families and the first born male, especially, is baptized into the mafia. The money is secondary. The honor and respect is first.

I don't know how I feel about this. One hand I hope it works, on the other you would HAVE to kill me to take my child. +1 I hope it works, but mafia will always be in South italy, you can't make them weak enough, but you can keep their power balanced

I hope whoever has helped pass this law has to deal with the heartbreak and damage it must cause to the families involved. This is absolutely unacceptable in my eyes, I'd go a couple of steps further but I don't wanna seem like a monster or someone who roots for criminals but WTF.
