I've watched the series many times and I don't think I ever noticed the tattoo on Tony's hand. The only time I've seen it is in the episode when Ton's mother dies. At her funeral, Tony reads a card attached to a bouquet of flowers and the camera zooms in on T's hand. It looks almost like an Arabic letter. Tony does not seem like the kind of guy to have a tattoo on his hand. Anyways, did everybody else notice this? Does anybody know what that symbol on his hand is?

I read somewhere that Gandolfini does has a smudge-like tattoo the size of a ladybug on his right index finger.What its supposed to be, maybe a heart?

Actress Drea DeMatteo has a lot of tattoos which I had read were covered up for the show. Guess the producers didn't feel Tony's would be distracting

I read somewhere he got that tattoo when he was eleven or twelve. It says UP DOWN but has worn off over the years.
