we rarely agree but this phone shit is beyond stupid It was bound to happen, Cook . No two people on this earth are THAT different. If you keep that in mind, and we BOTH learn to bite our tongues once in a while, I think we can eventually learn to treat each other with respect. Some of my closest friends and allies on these boards started out as the exact opposite. We worked things out through pms and moved on. Now, realistically, you and I will probably never be friends, even in the online sense. But there's absolutely no reason why we can't respect each other and treat each other civilly. That's my olive branch to you. Before my Dad got sick, it would have been impossible for me to make this post. But life's too short, man. It's too fucking short. Especially for the bullshit. Racism n racist jokes are hilarious....well the jokes r funny Too bad people take racism seriously n we have radicals Not calling u racist, i'm more light hearted than u think Only race I truly dislike is my own for obvious reasons

So, moving forward, let's both keep this particular exchange in mind . Now, back on topic. A neighbor kid recently bought the LG G3, but he got locked into a contract and got the thing disconnected (read the fine print, boys). The phone goes for like $600, and it was like brand new. So I took a chance and bought it off the kid for a hundred bucks. It took a little doing, but I finally found a small cellular store in the mid-Bronx willing to "unlock" it. He charged me fifty bucks to do it, then he put in a T-Mobile prepaid sim. $80 a month for unlimited talk, text, and data. I never had an android phone before (although I have an ASUS tablet), and my iPhone is still my "go-to" phone for now. But this LG G3 is a helluva phone. My only beef is that it's a little too big.

Thanks, Pizza I'm two generations behind when it comes to owning phones, tvs and computers but I do like to know about latest tech products. So..I may get this G4...as the next president is being inaugurated. Interesting point about tech geeks, you'd think that they'd be more "practical" and objective when it comes to products but the ones I know are alligned with either team Samsung or team iPhone...nothing else exists.

I have iPhones but not at all a team guy or give a rats ass for Apple or any other company, I think they just made it easier for all the devices to Jive.
My phones and ipad sync with my computer, they update and share all the info or contacts / content , very convenient for work and play.
I am sure the others do that too.

What's the consensus on phone insurance? Scam or no scam? Have had iPhones for years, maybe Ten years or so and never had the insurance. Not sure if it's a scam but I just figured it was not for me and would just get another or reconnect one of my old ones if I unfortunatly lost or broke it.

What's the consensus on phone insurance? Scam or no scam? Scam. I had insurance against theft and my phone got stolen. I had to prove it got stolen, by sending the insurance company paperwork from the police. Even after that it wasn't enough to get my money back. Apparently the circumstances in which my phone was stolen was not a reason for them to refund my phone. Waste of paying a year of insurance.

I was just asking to see what everyone else thought. To me, it's on par with car rental insurance. The big four here in the U.S. (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T) all charge roughly $14 a month for coverage. Now, if you take a two-year contract, that's an extra $336 right there. Plus, there's a deductible. I'd rather invest thirty or forty bucks into a high-quality case and take my chances. And if you LOSE your phone, then, I'm sorry, but that's on you .

I have an Iphone 5 and I too bought a case for it as well as a screen protector. Can't say my phone has been bounced around or fallen much but it has happened. I haven't had any problems at all. I thought I'd miss a landline but am not sorry at all that I got rid of it. TIS

I should loose that thing also.

Question: On these newer phones that feature fingerprint scanners, do you HAVE TO enable the feature?
I'm not worried about anything, I just find it to be an incredible invasion of my privacy. I'm fine with a four or five digit pin code. No Sir, this option needs to be initiated. I do not think I would input the source needed for the option of this technology as well. I do not use Skype for almost the same Security reasons also.
