I don't know. If they're open for lunch maybe I'll give it a shot. But I'm too old for the dinnertime posers at those places. And I'm not even talking about wiseguy places. I'm talking about the phony clientele in Palm Beach County. These are the same nitwits who go to art gallery openings and ooh and ahh over a splash of red paint on a white backdrop, then praise the artist for his "vision" and "surrealism." Like they'd know real art if it bit them in the ass. I'm more of a "Dogs Playing Poker" guy myself.

Anyway, right now Tramonti has the best Italian food in Palm Beach County. In Broward, ironically, I'd give the nod to Martorano's on Oakland Park. I say ironically because of Steve's familial connection to the Philly mob. The food is good and you get plenty of it, but you have to be in the mood because the place is retarded with loud music and non-stop movies on the big screens, which are everywhere.

To clarify I didn't find it out of nowhere. PB recommended when he knew I was down there. My father in law lives down there from Dec/Jan depending on how cold it gets til May/June. He has arthritis and the the cold kills him. My mother in law just stays up here by herself. She winds up being over here all the time which I don't mind. Extra hand to help with kids is never bad. And my brother in law went to FAU and never came back. Got married in boca and bought a town home. Point being I spend 3-4 weeks down there a year.

According to the website for Merlino's they open up at 4PM, so that falls right in line with your age group's supper time these days, am I correct?!? PB my friend down in South Florida told me about that at Martarano's with the crazy loud music,like you said about the good food but you could hardly carry on a conversation.I thought it would have been a more subdued quiet crowd,boy was I wrong.There's also one [Martarano's] at the Hard Rock down there,I think.

He's a really friendly guy. He's pretty big now so he's rarely at the Oakland Park location. But when he's around he walks around in jeans and a chef's coat and bullshits with just about anyone who will listen. But yeah, I'm too fucking old for that kind of noise.

The Martarano's guy, yeah I guess hes an okay guy. But nothing gets under my skin more than an Italian who acts Black and this guys got it BAD. He talks like one, he looks like he spends lots of time in a tanning booth.
