A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.
Jack Nicholson at his best for me apart from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, this film is not a horror film per se but there is something about it which makes it downright scary and brilliant, Kubrick really was a film making genius the musical score fits perfect with the film.. In my top 10 of best films of the 80's even though it was made pretty much between 77-79.
Director: Stanley Kubrick
