Stand up guys, no doubt. But they're both cautionary tales about the life.
Dino Saracino too in the fact that he was similar in age and got that 50 yr sentence. Another good example. But I used Genie as an example because he's a couple of years from coming home. Home to nothing, after close to thirty years, regardless of whether he keeps his stripes. It's a shit life in most cases. That's all I'm trying to say.

Is/was gene gotti married did does he have kids ? Yes to both. I don't think any of them are involved are they? Unlike the rest of the brothers, maybe he has daughters? Yes, he has girls. As far as I know at least one of them still lives in the house in Valley Stream.

No doubt. The reverse kharma of the Model Penal Code is that no matter what the DA decides to bring as far as charge classification (murder 1,2,3,etc) the judge has 100% complete discretion in issuing a sentence. If they charge you with murder and assault with a deadly weapon but only prove the murder charge, the judge can say "I know you did the murder so I'm gonna max out the sentence on your assault charge".
I was just letting sonny know that Murder 3 in PA is not The same as a manslaughter charge.

the judge can say "I know you did the murder so I'm gonna max out the sentence on your assault charge". Gotcha. It's tantamount to Little Dino Saracino beating the murder rap, then the Judge says I know you did it so I'm giving you forty years on the RICO.

Yeah definitely. 30 years of your life sitting in a concrete cell everyday. If there was a PSA for the mafia these guys would make good examples.

Gene. Gotti has been down for 30 years. What a waste . I kind if feel sorry for the guy, when he comes home, he is going to be shell shocked. The world has changed, I wonder if he will go by the Ravenite and see what it is like now.

The world has changed, Worst part is, if John allowed them to plea, Gene and Carnegs would have been home more than ten years ago. That's a lot to wake up to every day when you wake up in a cage. And the sad part is that pleas are the norm today. John Gotti and the Gambinos were really behind the curve there, whereas the Westside snd the Lukes have taken the plea bargain and made it an art form. It's one of the things allowing them to hang on. That was Gotti's biggest shortcoming, his refusal to deal. Not his flashiness. I knew a hundred assholes just as flashy as John. John's batshit anti-government stance hurt more people than his Brioni suits.

Why has Nicodemo been such a huge suspect in the Gongs murder? What evidence leads to that thought ? Which mob wife was Gongs hooking up with ? Did that ever come out ? Was Nicodemo made thru Uncle Joe?

me also thought this was random.. stevie mazzone is married to a grande... so dom grandes uncle is stevie mazzone. Here's another random statement. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Wayne Grande is Dom's father, right. Well in Mafia Prince Leonetti says his cousin Rita was married to Wayne. Wouldn't that make Dom cousins with Leonetti?

Doms dad Wayne has a sister Trudi. She's married to Mazzone. There are a few families who are upset about him not flipping. A couple of them were looking for closure and hoping Nics would provide that thru talking. Johnny gongs is only 1 unsolved murder within ties that has occurred since Nics been in.
He still may roll after a couple more years in. Or, he may not.

Wow.. have to say im pretty shocked he took this one on the chin... now I don't condone murder..at all.. but I have to say I have respect for nicodemo in this situation. Especially since so many people were thinking he was going to flip to save his ass...(cant lie I thought he was going to also.. just because the state of the mob these days and how people flip for a fuck of a lot less than what he was facing, not to mention hes young. has a young attractive wife and children.) im a very, very firm believer that if you knowingly get involved with criminal activity you have an obligation to take the good AND the bad. If you willing involved and know the consequence and cannot man the fuck up and deal with them when shit goes bad... then im sorry but I have no respect for you. People love getting money illegally when every thing is going smooth but once shit hits the fan they act shocked and start pointing the finger at their own mothers to get out of doing time.. One quote sums its up perfectly.. if you cant do the time, don't do the crime..
and like I said I don't think killing people is cool and should go unpunished.. and im no fan boy.. but I have to give it up to nicodemo for being such a loyal and stubborn mother fucker in this day and age.
curious whats going to happen with grande...I know all summer he was down the shore and hitting all the clubs like mur mur in ac.. always with stevie mazzones nephew.. does anyone know who grandes skipper is? like I said every time hes out and about its always with the mazzones whether its stevie, sonny, or the other brother.. and their kids who are in their early/mid 20's.. kind of makes me think grande reports to stevie. It won't be long before he starts to cooperate. After doing some time and worrying about his hot wife blowing every guy in town, he'll make a call to the Feds "if he has anything of substance." It happens all the time. This guy appears to be truly unstable.

Here is a question for the legal minds. By Nicodemo pleading guilty in a state case and while he awaits to be sentenced, he decides (or maybe already has) to cooperate Federally, does that then allow the Feds to make recommendation for a lenient sentence on the charge based on his cooperation or can they then take over the case and be sentenced Federally? Just trying to make sense of the plea. The Feds will be dangling some very tempting bait in front of him in the coming months. The State's done with him, the Feds aren't. Especially if they think they can get to Merlino. Now I reiterate that some solid Philly people have told me that he'll stand his ground. But the Feds will be breaking his balls for awhile at the very least. And Beans, the short answer to your question is that the Feds can pressure the State to release a guy to them any time they want. The State doesn't technically have to comply. But they usually do. And in mob cases, I can't think of a single instance where they didn't comply.
