This came up at happy hour last night. Can anyone name the roster off of Skinny Joey's old softball team?

Joey Merlino, Anthony Borgesi, Joe Ligambi, Steve Mazzone, George Borgesi, Sonny Mazzone, Angelo Lutz (Manager), Phil Ligambi (Asst Manager), Mike Lancelotti, Roger Vella, Anthony Accardo, Frannie Porter, Steven "Snitch" Frangipanni, Ralphie Head Abruzzi, Anthony Cianfrani, Anthony Imbesi, Mark Borgesi, Joseph DiMartino, Anthony Cassise.

A few of the guys listed at the end of the list were actually substitute players that stepped in for some of the guys when the indictments started coming down in the summer of 1999 and guys were going to jail. Might be missing a couple guys, but that's pretty much the bulk of the Gino's Cafe squad.

On another somewhat related note, does anyone know anything about Gino's Cafe, what happened to it? Was it a mob clubhouse/social club? Any details and info or stories around it would be great! I think that they Merlino guys may have come into possession of the place via the Tony Milicia shakedown, but I could be wrong about that?

Those two articles from the Philly paper are hilarious. Some of the sayings used, such as calling the team "the hitmen" and that "they murdered" their competition. The umpire calling the play at the plate where Merlino beat the tag a "bang! bang!" play had me laughing out loud.

Re Merlino:
I'm not sure who the black (or Muslim?) looking man is in the beginning. I was wondering the exact same thing when I first saw this video. Maybe somebody will know who he is?

About 45 seconds in, I believe the older man next to Joey in the black suit is Stan Stein, the businessman who has basically been his financier and backing since his release from prison. The other gentleman next to Stein (in the orange shirt) is Ray Wags.

What's Gino's a bar pizza place social club? Is it still open. Wants joey gets out I think he gonna make a shit load of new guys to start taking back south jersey. He made 3 guys from Boston so he could get more dough shit he'll start another family down Florida. Like uncle Joe said when joey gets out he can make them himself. He smarter then people give him credit for. With nicodemo taking that life bid he's gonna be good. You think joey OK the long john hit from prison or uncle did it for himself

It was basically a coffee/sandwich shop, where they hung out. They had regular customers come in and buy stuff though, so it wasn't like most social clubs.
