Some of my jobs when I was a kid. I used to work on pier 3 in Brooklyn. Flora Merchante Grand Colombia steam ship line. We were stealing from all the other piers except that one. They were smuggling drugs attached to the hulls of those ships. Just like in the French connection 2. Then moved to Milton Snedicker export import company. Saw all their dock receipts took any thing good we could find. Then a garment center company I was dealing with liked me and stole me away. They I was stealing from them anything I could. Then I was put into a brokerage house. An Italian ran it and hired mostly all Italians. Got all kinds of stock tips. Kleiner bell Lew Alcinder aka Kareem jab bar lost his bonus signing money from the Milwaukee Bucks when he decided to invest there. I met him there I asked him if he knew my friend Johnny. They both went to power memorial hs. They had a fight there Later when the shit hit the fan in that place the owner a really nice guy went missing. Somebody also planted a bomb in that place Then Cape York shipping. Most shipped to Australia, and a few other places. There was this guy who was the President of Yoyager industries something like that. Turned out he was a big heroin distributor in Austrailia. He came from good criminal stock. His wife was as tough as he was. I picked them up from their hotel. They were being bothered by a panhandler. I see it I go to interview by the time I got there they both were beating the shit out of the panhandler. Where did I go next just did outside work for people here and there.

Was the Genovese Family active in the Garment District, and if, which Capo was responsible for overseeing the family's rackets and until when? Thanks Yes, the Genovese family was active in the Garment Center. I've never read of a single West Side captain having the responsibility over that industry but Matty Ianniello had interests there. The Genovese also had 1/3 control of the Greater Blouse, Shirt, and Undergarment Association along with the Gambinos and Colombos also having 1/3 each. The Garment Center is an example of where, while there may have been a dominant family in the industry, others were also involved. The same could be said about the Javits Center, JFK Airport, etc.

Their influence was never the same in the garment district after that. Served them right. And Tommy Gambino was really in the garment district, Foots? Geez, I'd never heard that before . Guy's name was more well known than Gianni Versace's was down there .

And gave everything to someone that wasn't in it
Do you mean Michael Pappadio? Al D'arco said they whacked him and gave everything he had to a Jewish associate.

Talk about just being a horrible horrible boss and leader
Knowing Casso and Vic have generally lives miserable lives outside of 10 years is a comforting feeling , and Casso will now always be known as the rat . Charma really showed its hand there it was Michael Pappadio

In his interview Casso claims the loot division was 50% Lucchese, 25% Gambino and 25% Genovese. Maybe it was true at the time he was underboss... no idea about it now.
-I shot him a coupla' times. -What's a couple? -Hmm, more than a couple... Really I don't know the exact amount, maybe I shot him 10 times, 12 times? -Maybe fifteen? -Hmm, it could've been fifteen...

Do you mean Michael Pappadio? Al D'arco said they whacked him and gave everything he had to a Jewish associate. The straw that broke the Luccheses' backs in the garment industry. Luongo, Facciolo, DiLapi, Pappadio, Salerno, and on and on and on. These guys were killed for nothing, ESPECIALLY Mikey Salerno. He and Mikey Pappadio were old fucking men and posed no threat whatsoever. People love to talk about the damage that Gotti did to the Gambinos. But Vic and Gas did just as much damage to the Luccheses. I hope they both live to be 110 years old yelling for the nurse to change their diapers in the infirmary. It's very telling that the old Harlem/Bronx/Westchester faction of the Luccheses was able to pick up the pieces and rebuild. It's because they were always the brains in that family to begin with.

Couldn't have said either post any better PB
And the biggest reason those Luchesse and Genovese guys have always been so successful IMO is they follow the secrecy thing to a tee , no one knows shit , then and now and they took their illegal money ( drugs and gambling ) and developed legit big business with it in construction trucking and garbage . That's their playbook and likely always will be
PB is right on point as usual when he somewhat frequently states about the closeness between those 2 families in EH and Bronx , they are basically brothers.
Luchesse , Vito G , Oremnto , Ducks, Pappadios and more were very very close business asssociates , going back to their 107th days
They have and will likely always be mirror images of each other and do business with each other with complete ease .
Unfortunately for them ( luchesse guys ) , they were real old school and followed the rules , the boss is the boss otherwise both Casso and Vic would be trunked and both of them absolutely knew it could happen at any time with little to no repercussions . They died like men with respects to that life .
Vic will always be discussed as who was the stupidest and most incompetent boss , him or Gotti, and Casso will go down as a fakester within this thing with no heart or inner strength , their reps forever destroyed .
