The DiCarlo book is about The Buffalo Boss before Maggadino rather than NJ's Gyp.
Or to be more accurate Giuseppe DiCarlo's son.

Also I know Pescis mob ties have kinda been touched on here, but was he close w DeCAarlo as it seems he ran this part of NewaRK at the time? Anyone know how he went from DeCarlo to bein connectED to Joe Dente I believe it was? Love Pesci really hope he comes outta retirement to do I Heard You PainT Houses like its been rumored

DeCarlo was a capo in his own right. After that crew split up following the death of Moretti and Vito's ascent to boss, they were all pretty much rewarded their own crews, so to speak. Boiardo had a crew and cooperated business wise with DeCarlo, DeCarlo and the elder Boiardo were close, going back as far to the Boots "First Ward Mob" days. Boiardo & Catena, not so much. Those two supposedly weren't very close, Catena I believe was one of the suspects when Bioardo had an attempt on his life made with a shotgun, it was initially suspected other members of Moretti's group did it, but it was most likely the Mazzochi's or Abner Zwillman's underlings.

Yeah, Eugene Catena, Boiardo and DeCarlo each ran their own crews in the early sixties and I think Catena's crew split in the early seventies between Lou Gatto and Tino Fiumara to make the four Jersey crews in the Genovese's today.
