What happens was I had a connect and was makin good money off the Vic and oxy so it was nothin to eat sum but 2 tens and day goes to 4 then to 8 then to 12 then to 15 then 20 then 25 tens a day or several 40s back when they were actual oc or lots of Roxy but then when the connect falls off my addiction didn't go with it so I was screwed.

There have been an unbelievable amount of deaths off that shit just in my little upstate NY county. The pills were so cheap and abundant, now heroin is the next best thing.
I remember being at work downtown by the projects and seeing an older woman in a jaguar open her window and throw a little empty dime bag out. I was thinking that she probably had a bunch of percoset bottles in her kitchen like every other soccer mom. Now she probably moved on to bigger things.
Well at least we control some poppy fields in Afghanistan now, so someone must be getting paid off this epidemic

The NE is flush with it. I know a bunch of kids with your story. I have dabbled. Not like that though. They are easily the most addicting thing I've ever experienced.

Oxy with Tylenol is Percocet. They used to distribute it with aspirin and call it Percodan. But aspirin is a bleeder, so you're less likely to see Percodan today.

Right. When it has Tylenol in it, you can't blow it. That's why people pay more for the pure stuff.

Pb you are correct and as an addict I have a masters in street pharmacy and you have no idea how many people wre dumb enough to tell me they wouldn't ever do roxy or oxy but then sat there and ate 5 Percs, eventually I gave up trying to explain.

It's actually very scary to me. In addition to the opiates which are far far far and away my biggest issue. Anything else I could do every so often and not really mind if I couldn't again but I've done a lot of things and while I can run miles without stopping and am overweight but not obese 6"3 245 down from 270 I wonder what long term effects these drugs have had on my body let alone my mind. I'm 28 and already know that I am gonna need dentures, already need dentures which upsets my folks who forked over very hard earned money on braces not once but twice. Twice because my teeth were so crooked as a youngin that they couldn't afford to pay for it all at one time.

Because my teeth are falling out. Already lost 5 or 6 and have cavities in most of the others. Now idk if it's a direct result of the drugs but when your a legit addict personal hygiene isn't exactly a priority. Now I've never been homeless standing over a burning barral with a dog begging for change. Because my father was such a worker he instilled that in me so I've always held a job and always hustled. Which really sucks because I've done the estimates on money spent and I even took the low one and it's still 350k easy wasted on drugs. And that's just opiates I'm not even counting pot which I've smoked since age 11

My wife had her CASAC for years here in New York, and it was a big bone of contention between us. Because first of all, the do-gooder in her brought her to some sewers that pass for hospitals in this city (Lincoln, Bellevue, Barnabas, and basically anyplace that will detox a homeless indigent without insurance for free).

And second of all, for most of my life I was diametrically opposed to the idea of addiction being a disease. She gave up her license years ago, and we eventually reached a compromise that some people honestly can't help themselves (that's as big a concession as you'll get from me regarding the disease model for addiction).

Anyway, I became pretty well versed on a lot of this stuff back then because my wife and I always make it a point to talk about our day (if you try to pass thirty years in silence, you're gonna have some pretty maladjusted kids). And in cases like yours, long term inpatient treatment might not be a bad idea. Eighteen months on a couple hundred acres of farmland beats the shit out of copping skag at three in the morning.

I'm actually in treatment at the moment and have been clean for a period of time, albeit not a long time but clean. I also can't get with the idea of addiction being a disease, I dont have cancer. Thats why i could never understand aa or na methods. The idea of giving myself up to a higher powerand putting my recovery into the hands of a mythical being never jived with me. Without going into to much detail i found a program called smart recovery where treatment is based on cognative functions rather than praying to get clean. It is however an every day process and it takes work to stay clean so anyone who works the na or aa programs and finds success I offer my congratulations that route is just not what worked for me. Really the biggest step in recovery is simply really actually wanting to get clean. Not doing it for anyone but myself. If a person is forced into recovery the success rate is near non existent.

And if you don't feel comfortable answering I understand and I'd recommend if you do answer not to name names, keep in mind I've been reading posts for a year plus even though only recently have I started to post so I've read quite a bit of your posts. Also as an avid reader I'm the type that has gon back thru the history of older posts just to read them for fun. But here it is, you have obviously come into contact with mobsters throughout your years, seemingly both through your profession as well As some personal interaction. Also yu appear to be fairly successful and legitimate. And being from old school neighborhoods probably not likely to b a snitch. All these things would make you a fairly juicy target for some form of shakedown. Has anyone attempted to do this? Do you have a rabbi that prevents such things? If you don't want to answer just ignore this post.

Hey krsheely good luck kicking this shit... hope the smart recovery works for you.. have you tried subutex? awful drug and expensive but if you have the resources its worth it, i know a few friends who've been in similar shoes as you and subutex worked wonders

Honestly I don't blame anyone selling it. No one ever forced me to do anything. Yeah I was actually on suboxne which is the same as subtext but subtext does not include the opioid blocker that suboxne has. I used subpxne successfully when I was just on Vic's perc and oxy. Took about two years and it was a long processs of weaning down, started at 12 mg then to 10 then 8 then 6 then4 then 2 and eventually 1 mg a day and then one day I jus decided to stop and did. I was uncomfortable for about 4 days but nothing like withdrawal sysmptoms and was completely good for about 8 months.
I found with the h that suboxne jus wasn't enough. I could take the full 16 mg in a day and still end up puking my guts out from withdrawal. I opted this time for the methadone and before anyone judges I know the risks and stigma but right now it's just about returning to normal life, I wake up every day and go to the clinic medicate and then I can go on about my day. Even then the first few days were tough and I'm still adjusting to the side effects but it's progress. It's not going to be a quick turn around at all but with medication and counseling I repeat and counseling, I say this twice becaus so many people Go to the clinic just basically to get cheaper buzz or just to not be sick without taking advantage of the full range of help offered. If a person really wants to get back to Normal and will actually work the program it can be done. If someone just goes to get a buzz from methadone it won't do Any good. You has got to take advantage of the counseling and group sessions that are made available. Counseling and meds are what will give me the best chance to succeed

Meth/coke normally attack the teeth ,opiates especially with filler attack the liver..
Must of been hygiene if not meth / coke.. if that was what you were saying..

It can be opiates if you're in the habit of grinding teeth too much while on them

You can avoid all this shit by staying off the fucking junk. And please don't tell me that I'm old and out of touch. Heroin was huge back in the '70s. It only fell out of favor when the Disco scene hit full force and cocaine became the drug of choice.

I can't handle alcohol. Weed is the only thing that suits me. I've messed with the pills but they mess me up too bad.

I never fell into deep addiction but I danced around it during certain times. I was in a danger zone. I can understand the people who get hooked. I think it has to do with life in general. Age is a factor too. Nobody thinks they're living good as an addict, but at least there's the synthetic feeling that can fool you into contentment for a while. For a lot of people, what's the point of getting clean? So you can be worn down and behind your peers and struggle to make 10 bucks an hour well into adulthood? In the mind of a lot of addicts, it's better to just continue the struggle til it kills you rather than going through hell just to live a shitty life

Thank you, Serp. But with me, it's J&B on the rocks, soda back. And right up until a few months ago, my old man could keep up with the Cutty Sark. I don't know about down by you, but a lot of the old time knockaround guys drank Cutty up here.

That's when I'm drinking scotch. I do a couple of different vodkas because I enjoy a Bloody Mary in the summer. I used to love Bombay martinis until I came to realize that I'm one of those people who should not be drinking gin. It's a true biological thing. Gin is made from the juniper berry, which makes some people very aggressive. It makes me completely insane.

I snorted heroin for years, jail usually helps ya get sober.

Weed is a much softer drug to choose.
