My first thoughts when I heard about the spinoff (and even now), is how most spinoffs don't compare to the original BUT I am anxious to see it and hope it matches TWD (which isn't an easy task imo). On a positive note tho, I'm guessing as soon as FTWD goes on it's mid season hiatus, TWD will come back and they'll be interchanging. Sunday at 9:00 will be some sort of DEAD!!! Anyway, thanks for starting this thread DeNiro. We'll see Sunday if it's off to a good start. TIS

Mig, I'm sort of doubtful about it too but must admit the previews look good and I look forward to watching tonight. Yes "Talking Dead" will be on but not sure of the time. I think it depends on your cable company. My daughter gets FTWD 3 hours earlier than I do (6:00 p.m. CA time). She has AT&T and I have Time Warner. I get Talking Dead tonight at 8:00 before FTWD. So check your listings. Btw, the first FTWD episode is an hour and a half. TIS

I'll be watching of course but, not getting my hopes up. Does anybody know if Talking Dead will be on tonight? Started off pretty good. The talking dead was on before the show but they were only doing that for the premier. Like the blond, she was on HBO's Treme, she was very good in that also.

Not bad. I thought it started out good with the guy waking up looking for Gloria AND ended pretty good with his best friend, turned Walker. Seems these Walkers are not quite as scraggly, worn/torn if you will. I suppose cause Zombie takeover is just happening. Anyway, I think it's way to early to judge if it's good or not and am willing to watch more episodes. It's gonna be real hard to compete with TWD but who knows. Btw, I read that they had an ok for a season 2, even before it aired. Don't really know any of the cast, tho the head guy (The Rick of FTWD) looks familiar. Yea, and the girl bugged me a little too. Don't know why. LOL TIS

The first season leads up to when the US Military napalms some of the US cities. This season of fear the walking dead is supposed to answer some of the questions that were never answered in the walking dead. Also in the series, there no zombie movies or books, so this is completely new to the world they live in. This is Kirk and David project, so they can tell the story how they wanted to in the walking dead, before AMC took over the walking dead, so they now have total free reign with this series. Travis is played by Curtis, a veteran actor from New Zealand, who has played in Deep Rising, Blow, Training Day, Collateral Damage among many others I can't recall at this time.

I knew Mig's view of the first episode, from FB -- as I admitted there, I have never seen more than a random episode or two of the original series, and have been planning to start it from the beginning. Along with other series, though, so it's tough to start a new marathon with a long list of "to-do's"! But I started to watch this series -- it's a prequel, right? -- so I should be good, watching this first... I thought it was okay -- and yes! that kid could easily play a young JD! -- and I'll keep watching for now, too... but I can't really compare it to the original, as I'm a virgin -- so to speak!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Hey Geoff! How ya doing? If you do watch TWD do see it from the beginning. Lots of great episodes and lots of surprises throughout the seasons. Of course, if you're not into the "Walker" (aka Zombie) theme than you might not like it. In my opinion, stories are well written (a couple slow episodes) and acting is great! You'll get to see that the Walkers are NOT really what it's about as much as survival. TIS

I've only watched the first two episodes. I can't wait till TWD comes back on. Very Soon Miss Mig, Sun. 10/11/15 Looks like they are following part of The Rise Of The Governor storyline, with the National Guard, which they showed the reverse roles in TWD TV series. It's getting better, started out slow now picking up the pace. Yes, that must be when the Civilians turn on the Military. I like it, I like that they are all a bit different. I dont want to watch three Z shows that are all the same. Z Nation is a little goofy, thats fine. FTWD is a different time line, so thats really cool. TWD has establish great charactors and a solid story line, very well done. like them all.

I think it's pretty good so far. What's with Nick in the hospital?? I must have dozed off (gotta watch again). He was stealing IV drug from patient? LOL I thought he was going straight. There are only 2 more episodes of the first season. Man, that was short. Was TWD first season that short? Anyway, so far so good, but I still like TWD more. Never saw Z Nation, but seen it in the listings. TIS
