I have just re-read a passage that neil d.ignored carmine persico's ideal & warning to hit big paul in 76 in order to gain a more prosperous army & the big seat after carlo passed...any thoughts if that could have machined it's way into reality?

No because Neil was smart enough to know that Carmine Persico was planning to do away with him. It would've been suicide to hit Paul. He was too connected. The same way Gigante was after Gotti once Paul was hit, bosses would have also gone after Neil had he done such a thing.

Let's just rest the subject of Neil going after Paul

Neil was simply too old school to ever fathom such an idea!!! He understood Nosa nostra ten times more than Paul ever did.

I agree with too old school and by the rules theory. Though after Anastasia was hit he did side with Armand Rava in a faction against Carlo, he more then likely did so because Carlo broke rules and he was Anastasias boy. Also read he was jumped by Gallos around time Albert was hit but not sure how much truth was in that story. Anyone have more info on the faction with Rava and Dellacroce and the alleged Gallo jumping?

We don't know what Carmine knew , I don't think he would of been talking like that if there was not something to it.

He had his hands in everything and knew what was what and who was who from the kid running shit around the street, to the top judge in the city and who he was doing the night before.

There are guys on here that will read this thread and come right out with what was going down but no doubt Dell should have been the man...

Really, how do you come to think this should be a new thread when it's visited on many others.

There should be a way to just delete duped, dumb downed and rediculous threads, not post, every post should be allowed that has opinion but a thread for any little thought, jeez.

Pretty sure Carmine persico in prison from 1972 to 1979 so he missed out on all the aftermath of Carlo gambino shit. His brother was calling shots but dibella was the official boss till November 1980 when persico took over. He using that to get out on appeal stating basically the feds new from scarpa he didn't have a say on Carmine galante death in 1979. He probaly could get a affidavit from Joe massino clearing that but I don't think it works that way. Maybe Neil was in prison on the tax stuff with him In 75. That's probaly what screwed Neil out the job he was locked up well gambino was sick n dying. Think jimmy brown was the acting underboss and big Paul acting for Carlo.
