A reader on another forum posed a question that you guys might be able to help with.
They are seeking information about a cousin that disappeared in the spring of '64.
That cousin (Emily Roberta Jordan) was investigated by the FBI for a counterfeit check scheme and apparently took it on the lam. The dates (Feb Mar 64) leads me to suspect it was the Joseph Spagnoli jr, Arthur Rachel case. It also involved a Secret Service agent named Bolden accused of selling info to the counterfeiters. Several attempts to get FOIA info from the feds have led nowhere for reasons ranging from it didn't exist, then it was lost, then it was found, but the items in it were misplaced, then they were destroyed.
What information exists is this:
The cousin worked for Warners Pontiac and was dating a connected guy by the name of Bruce A. Richards, possible nicknamed Hatchetface. He worked for Nickey Chevrolet. They hung out in a bar called Adorable Curvy, possibly frequented by Bottles Capone.
The couple lit out Feb-Mar '64 for Florida Cousin gets a name change in Fla in '64, marries the boyfriend in Calif in Nov '66, then her trail goes cold.
Boyfriend gets nabbed, cops a plea and does a year around '65, changes name to John Ryan O'brien. Remarries later and eventually dies.
They have talked to the Boyfriend's brother and that is where the outfit info comes from, but the brother claims he never knew the cousin.
The FBI questioned the family about the cousin for years, but now claim she's not in their database.
They hold a FBI evidence tag marked 87-77977 K9 JK
If anyone knows anything about the names or places I've mentioned or whether the number on the tag holds special significance, or even has insight as to how to get around what appears to be stonewalling by the feds it would be appreciated.

Ya, I read that trib article. One woman was Spagnoli's GF the other was just a neighbor in a trailer park where they had their printing operation set up. She testified that she heard machinery clanking. I doubt either was the cousin. The family got back to me and told me that they mis-remembered the name of the bar. It was either shapery or shapely adorable and it was on Rush St. which was pretty much all mobbed up and lined with strip clubs and B-girl joints in the '60s.

What did she change her name to? Not sure. I think she just started going by her middle name, then eventually by marriage changed her last name to Richards. I'll reach out to the family and try to find out
