When they were casting for goodfellas a lot of it was done in Rao's. Older wise guys still go there. Some were only to happy to tell stories that others did and what they did. They rat themselves out.

I am sure others did the same in the sopranos.

I believe a retired judge sued David Chase for stealing most of the story lines. Not sure how that ended.
