It's been heard and pass around before. It's to bad with the thousands of hours they recorded at the "White House", this is all we have... Remember who these heavy hitters used to pay-off? Cops, agents, prosecutors, judges, politicians... Their names are all over those tapes too. We will never hear them. They all got wet and destroyed like locasio's tapes from hurricane Sandy lol

That's not why he said that. He said it specifically because Paul used a big vocabulary on occasion, in simpler terms, he said it because Paul used a lot of big words and spoke like he was college educated, not because his voice sounded oh so sweet.. Of course!! I didn't imply they liked his voice rather the way he talks... Something these bosses didn't have what with their profanities

I mean Christ, not only with Paul but with other 50s-80s Mobsters there's got to be hundreds and thousands of hours of tape, amazing stuff - they could just edit out the names or not release tapes that name powerful people. It's a shame so much that was recorded we can't hear. We can hear every single Watergate tape, but all we get out of Big Paul is 40 seconds?

The Genovese didn't kill Simone, the Gambino's did. And they only killed Simone as a request from Nicky Scarfo because Simone was meeting with NY families, specifically the Gambinos and discussing his prospects at taking over the Philly Mob. Scarfo found out about this and told the Commission that Simone would have to be dealt with by the Gambinos themselves, in order to be convinced that the Gambinos weren't plotting against Scarfo, so Castellano ordered his murder. This is according to Sammy The Bull, who participated in the killing.
The Gambinos never "took over" AC, it was basically an open city. And the Genovese was always considered as having the strongest crews in Jersey, after the Bruno murder. Why would Paul allow this? Why would he just turn a blind eye while his Commission vote is taken by the Genovese. Just because the Cherry Hill Gambinos dealt with Bruno, that doesn't mean that they even knew what was going on...Paul had little to do with that whole situation and he obviously didn't care who enough to retaliate. The Westies and Gambino connection had nothing to do with the Genovese plotting to get rid of Bruno and Caponigro.
Although I get what you're saying about the Westies killing Stein, the Gambinos informing them to lie about killing Stein, so the Westies can keep Steins black book thus profit off his book making racket and in turn the Gambinos profit too. So that means the Genovese must've killed Bruno and eliminated Caponigro and took over his loansharking racket as revenge. But its nothing more than a conspiracy theory. Because one, Caponigros loansharking racket was a Philly family thing, the Gambinos in all likelihood got no kickups from that, that was strictly a Philly LCN racket. Once the Genovese got Caponigro out of the way, it was no longer a Philly racket, the Genovese now claimed it and thus reaped all the benefits. As far as Bruno being killed and the Genovese getting an extra Commission vote when needed as a result of Bruno's elimination, again, that was strictly a Genovese plan, Paul didn't allow it to happen, it just happened. Paul most likely knew nothing about it, because Bruno didn't know anything about it, thus the Cherry Hill Gambinos knew nothing about it, because Bruno did not know that Caponigro was plotting with Tieri , thus the Genovese by extension, to have him murdered. That's not something Caponigro made public. Few people knew about it, and those that did were calabrians from his crew, who were loyal to him and probably thought things would get better for them with a fellow Calabrian running the family. As well as those within the Philly family who were plotting with Caponigro, like Frank Sindone.

, I always imagined a slow calm croaky voice.... He sounded like Gotti in that he can tap for days, no wonder the other boss said "Paul u talk so beautiful I wish I can talk like that" I've heard these tapes before. Paul doesn't sound young to me. But he sounds way more unpolished than I had expected. By the way all of the commentary went about Paul, I expected an imperious snob with a big nose who spoke as if he was old money. Clearly, he was far from it. I am aware of that quote also, the one where the other boss says 'Paul you talk so beautiful". I just don't hear it, unless he was referring to Paul's very New York Italian accent. The proper diction just isn't there.
"For us, rubbin'out a Mustache was just like makin' way for a new building, like we was in the construction business."
