I can remember this like it was yesterday. Media blew him sitting in Lindros' seats up. Stories that Lindros was dating his sister came out as well as a bunch of bs about Joey having control of him for gambling purposes, but really when team tickets go unused they sell them and Joeys always been a huge sports fan. He was a huge Lindros fan had met him a handful of times and didn't want Lindros name drug thru the mud like it was at the time. Damn I miss days of Lindros and Leclair.

Seems like more of a humble guy than I imagined. I believe him.

I definitely heard a rumor that Maria Merlino who was formally engaged to Salvie Testa back in the early 80s went out on dates with Lindros and was actually hooking up with him and what not... Of course if that was in fact the case, Merlino would never admit that on the air or anywhere for that matter so who knows... But definitely was a legit rumor bottom line...

Thanks for the link .... Merlino has a pretty deep voice, if I didn't know him I'd imagine physically a much bigger guy in real life
