What the hell is wrong with you kids? You're pronouncing that you are bored, as if there is ANYTHING ANYONE other than yourselves can do about it.

Boredom is a sure sign of indolence and a complete lack of vigor and creativity. For Christ's sake, there is SO much to do in the world, especially when you are young. And the best part is, every option open to you is FUN.

You see, I stay occupied with not-fun things...pumping water out of my basement, writing bills, going to the dump, fixing the water pump on my car.

But YOU guys...if you think you're bored now, just wait. The events adulthood throws at you will make you want to die, if you continue to hold this poor attitude.

Go outside. Read a book. Take a walk. Go look at ducks in a pond. Sit and think. Feed the squirrels. Write a long letter to an old friend. And these are SIMPLE, isolating activities.

In sum, if I hear any of you say "I'm bored" again, I am going to snap. This is the first day in the history of this board that ANYONE has said so. You might be better off over at facethejury.com or Yahoo message boards, where everyone is a miserable teenager saying, "I'm hungry," "I'm bored," "I'm tired."

Stop.

No, I don't think I have stressed enough how upset I am.

We were worrying about the quality of posts and ranks, etc. Now, here, this "bored" stuff is definitive proof that my dear BB has slipped a notch or two, and I'm furious.

My dear Soul-Sister (Brother), don't blow...its the malaise of the youth. Unfortunately we now live in an instant gratification world where all creativity is sapped and stifled. That's why I am in no hurry to buy a gas mask or duct tape. Drop the big one right next to me. My soul is clean. Take me Lord. Only kidding. I'll stick around, but you are right. I am never bored. I need 36 hours in a day to do all the things my brain cooks up.

ha Ha...I just got relieved of it yesterday about 4 times. Unfortunately my boyfriends mom is a mid-life crisis ridden bitch so I don't know if he can see me for a few weeks.

Those suggestions sound kinda boring. Any better ideas?

I agree. What really needs to happen here is we need to establish an arguement where we can involve everyone. I admit my past 130 posts have been shit but quite frankly a lot of the threads on this board have been brainless and dull resulting in.....brainless and dull answers from myself and others. Lets argue.....

Yeah. He's handsome. I love him to death. His mom has been being VERY mean to him lately, though. It seems like every chance she gets she calls him a loser. She always says that it is their fault(the kids) that she never got to have any 'fun'. She says she never got to experience being a kid because she had kids since she was 17. I tell him ,'HEY, it is NOT your fault that SHE got pregnant'. I see that it hurts him, though, and it breaks my heart.

Any given day I'd rather have twenty ruminations about mullet haired men making soldier-like bowel movements than twenty of the same ole polls and posts. But I'm an egalitarian, I believe we can accommodate everyone here.

And Shortcake, your boyfriend's mother is truly the type of mother I despise. Does she not realize the irreparable damage that inflicts her son?

NO, SaladBar. That is just the thing. She doesn't realize that she is making him sink deeper and deeper into depression. He has had a rough life. He will be 18 in Nov. and already he has had a dad that was drunk 24/7 and beat the crap out of him,his sister,and his mom. They moved from Mexico to Houston because he threatened to kill them then to NY because he found them once. His grandfather molested him when he was 5. His dad molested his sister. His mom is a lesbian. his sister is a lesbian. Just so much UNNECASSARY crap in his life. He holds it all inside, though because he has to keep up that 'macho' attitude. But, he has cried for me a few times and he says I am the 'best thing that has ever happened to him'. It's a good feeling when you know that you make someone feel comfortable and safe. I love him so much. Poor Baby.

GuineaPig, I have been telling him ever since we started dating that he shouldn't listen to her. She is a VERY bad mother. She tells her daughter Sarah that she is fat( you should see the mother). You just don't do that to your kids. I keep telling Serg that he is very smart(which he is), funny,talented,etc and that he could do so much. My family has offered SO many times to let him live with us. He says that he wants to but he would be afraid to make his mom sad. I think he feels like he has an obligation to her. Every time he gets paid from his job she takes his money to buy her stupid girlfriend presents. She is a freakin' nurse. I know she has her own freakin' money. He always says that she will pay him back but she hasn't, so right about now she owes him over $300. I think she has emotionally beaten him down to the point that he has no self-worth. He seems to only have self-esteem when I'm around. Gosh, it just brings me to tears.

ShortCake, you probably know that I am aold fashioned guy. I don't think you should try to get between a mother and her son. Of course, I've never been in a situation anything like the one you describe, but I was raised to believe that your parents are always right. If his mom is a witch, he must seperate himself from her. You should probably stay out of it. If he and his mother do break off ties, he may grow to regret it. And this could do him much more harm than you think. Being estranged from your family is not something that is easy to deal with.

Again, I don't know exactly what happens in your boyfriends life. I probably should not even post something along these lines, but it is just my belief. Of course, many things that I believe are horse pucky anyways, so take it all with a grain of salt.

Although I've never been the type for "self-help", I think seeing a family couselor could help your boyfriend and his mom. Just my .02

HH, Who said I was trying to come between a mother and her son? No offense, but maybe YOU should stay out of it. You have NO idea how much damage this lady has done to her kids. They have been through things that you only see in the movies. How's this for an example....She has sex with her girlfriend IN FRONT OF THEM. Wow, some mother. And counseling? That is OUT of the question. She doesn't think she's the one with the problem. Now please don't comment to this because you will cause me to become VERY upset and possibly even cry.

Just a tip Shortcake, but maybe you should keep these types of problems to yourself if you want people to stay out of it. You've presented alot of situations there and this is a public board of over 2000 members. People have opinions and are likely to reply.

But Uztopoke - those things you've mentioned to pass the time away are boring. Feed a duck - kick a duck. But you are absolutely correct. Youngsters, myself included, don't appreciate our younger years until it's too late. I'm already thinking about getting back to college in September. I've had two years in the 'real' world. But i'm not fully independant yet and i've got to live a little before settling down and pumping water out of my basement.

Went to dump this morning though. My brother should pay me for the stuff I help him out with.

No, I meant to say "going to the dump". Not going to take a dump. The dump is the tip yards, trash yards. I was getting rid of garden slabs for him and his missus - heavy work, my brothers injured.
