Going off memory, maybe totally wrong...
When gravano turned, not long after didn't Casso try to cut his own deal but failed? Wasn't part of the reason that he had murder information gravano hadn't disclosed, or it contradicted gravano stories, but the Feds didn't care they just wanted gotti at any cost? So Casso got no deal?
How many murders was Casso suggesting gravano withheld from the Feds ? I don't know if Casso ever went into detail with any murders Sammy didn't admit to. He did try to get his own deal, but there were numerous reasons they denied him the deal and gave him 455 years. He admitted to plotting to kill a prosecutor and a judge, he was caught in too many lies, he ran the WitSec unit in Otisville like his own personal fiefdom smuggling in heroin, lobsters, liqour, other drugs and anything he could get his hands on. Bribed prison workers to do it. Had several altercations with Big Sal Micciotta. Had 37 murders or more probably. Plus he flunked the psychiatric exam that said he was a lunatic. They knew they weren't gonna let Casso out of prison and back into society ever again. They just pumped all the info he had and threw him in jail for life which was a very wise thing to do. Casso put his faith in the fact they needed him to put Chin away. He should have used the Mafia Cops as his high card instead.

They also had caracoppa making inquiries regarding Hydells address and a few other things that both were directly tied to Hydell. Those 2 are as guilty as the day is long.

He said that in a phone conversation and wrote it in a letter to his defense lawyers, saying that they didnt kill Eddie Lino, that in fact he was a part of a hit team that gunned down Lino. He also said in the same letter that he couldnt "honestly disprove" that Eppolito & Caracappa had anything to do with Jimmy Hydell's kidnapping. In other words, he couldnt actually dismiss the supposed fact that they kidnapped Hydell. Thats why Casso wasnt allowed to testify and why the feds wouldnt continue any deals with him, he flip-flopped on his own stories and claims.
Hydells own mother says she saw the two cops take Hydell away, so there isnt much reason to believe that they were innocent of the crimes they were convicted for. Yeah, I have seen the Anthony Casso mob docs and read Brotherhoods too.
