In the philip carlo ' s book is said that Kuklinsky after was arrested for the first of the 5 murders decided to admit the rest of the murders for dont make suffer his family with the mass media attention. For sure Kuklinski could speak on gravano for the the calabro death and for the other people whacked for the mob especially after gravano flips; for sure he won't be free again but would stay in a low security prison der false name. You're right about that Furio. Kuklinski was scheduled to testify against Gravano, so that had to be in exchange for something.

kuklinski was never sheduled to testify against gravano. kuklinski said that sammy had killed a cop that kuklinski had orginally taken credit for. authorities didn't believe either version of his story.

Whose "most commentators", just out of curiousity? A quick google search of the three names, Kuklinski, Gravano & Peter Calabro, all separately I might add, produces numerous articles, but none of them state Kuklinski was scheduled to testify against Gravano. Kuklinski confessed to the Calabro murder on live television, so I don't know how he'd legally be able to testify anyway. Kuklinski was charged along with Gravano in '03 after Kuklinski confessed and mentioned Gravano as part of his confession, I don't know about him being scheduled to testify, but it never happened, and the case was thrown out after Kuklinski died, and these are the DA's, whom was on the case, own words... “While our office possesses independent information which tends to corroborate Mr. Kuklinski’s story that he was hired by Mr. Gravano to kill police officer Calabro, I do not believe that such evidence, standing alone, supports proceeding ahead to trial at this time,” Molinelli said. In other words, Kuklinskis words alone weren't reliable enough to convict in the case of a trial. I dont know about him being scheduled to testify though.

When I recieved my CJA attorney (kind of like a public defender but they're real world lawyers) from the southern District of NY, we did a lot of talking, he and I. Very interesting man. He died 2 weeks after I was sentenced in 2014. His name was Edward Wilford. During one of our meetings he told me of an appearance in court he had had gotten through the federal CJA (court appointed) program. It was for Sammy Gravano, in reference to the Calabro murder. Kuklinski was also in the courtroom. And this is what he told me. He said Kuklinski wrote something on a piece of paper and then ripped the paper from the pad and flashed it to him (Ed Wilford). It read "I'll throw the case for 300k". Ed said Kuklinski then proceeded to eat the paper. After the courtroom proceeding was over, Ed took the pad from Kuklinski's desk, went to the prosecutors and told them what happened. The pad was taken to a forensic lab and what Kuklinski had written showed up on the underlying paper in the form of pressure imprints. Figured I'd share. Ed had no reason to bullshit me regarding this. I actually knew Attorney Edward Wilford (but not as his client), and I believe that actually happened also. I've heard that story before. Now how could Kuklinski throw a case against Gravano unless he was going to be called to testify?

Interesting, right, Alfa? Very. What was even more interesting was the list of clients Edward Wilford and Anthony Rico had. Everybody from Clarence Norman to Al Qaida. The Bull was small potatoes to someone like Edward Wilford.

Yeah, he told me he defended the "One eyed Sheik" from the 93 wtc bombing.
When they dragged me out of the dungeon of the MCC holding pen to be introduced to my lawyer, I was handcuffed behind my back by a particularly asshole-ish CO and led into a small steel room with bulletproof glass. On the other side of the glass, sat a stocky well groomed man with a lavender shirt & matching tie, smart looking double breasted suit and a fedora with a matching lavender. My first thought was "I'm being represented by huggy bear". He started off by saying hello, then telling me I was a very lucky man and that I should Google him when I got out. Told me he would see me upstairs, not to worry, and that he had given his card to my lady upstairs. He said, don't talk to anyone, and asked me if I had any questions. Only thing I said was, "Mr Wilford, it's great to meet you, I need to get out of here because these cuffs are breaking my shoulder". He laughed and I split lol. At the first pretrial hearing, Ed was seemingly out flanked by the lead defendants attorney, high powered Michael Critchley. All 20 some odd other lawyers gathered around Critchley to yak it up before the judge entered. Not Ed. Ed took control during the hearing and offered to organize a discovery distribution and development of of pretrial motions thru his office, which was right down the street. I was impressed. Critchley sat quietly.

I always told Ed. Being given you as an attorney, and having no choice but to take a plea, is like being given a Ferrari and told not to drive it. LOL! alfa, kuklinski was poisoned for a reason, most likely to prevent him from ratting on some people.
