Just a random post, Anyone here think Nicky would have been a good fit as Gambino boss before his indictment and arrest in the 90's ? In the 1980's he was already a Powerful Captain with a pretty big crew of soldiers with over 100 associates amd had Mill basin, Bergen beach, Marine park,Gerritsen beach,Canarsie,and parts of Sheepshead bay and flatbush on lock ! Running most of his operations out of 2 main Clubs , The Dugout on E.54th ave.N and the veterans club on Ave.N and E.64th.

The only thing I hear about Nicky Corrozzo is through the Andrew Didonato book .

Think i read gotti purposely held him back think he was only a soldier untill he was off the street because he was such a force. Im pretty sure Nicky was a Captain sometime in the mid eighties maybe earlier. I grew up in Ozone pk and moved to Bensonhurst and basically was back n forth all my life , When I was younger i know Fat Andy Ruggiano i think was the captain overseeing Nicky and his brothers along with His son,Ronnie one Arm And a few others. Fat Andy had a main spot on 84th st and Rockaway blvd in Ozone that was a bar,Strip club, Cafe and after hours and theyre main headquarters called Fat Andy's.Everyone in the neighborhood was scared to death of the place as it was rumored that the upstairs top floor was used to kill and dismember people ! They found a dead body up there at one time. Anyways, Im not sure, I think it was Jo Jo's cafe/Club was located on the border of City Line/East Ny where liberty ave. And 101 ave meet and Ozone pk Queens, 2 blocks from Ronnie One Arm's Headquarters which was a bar called Steves fireside Inn on 77th st and 101 Ave in ozone pk. Nicky was already a Captain for years at that point which was late 80's early 90's. Jo Jo i think at the time was a very powerful soldier and word at the time was that Nicky was an acting captain at times for Fat Andy Ruggiano. By the early 90's Nicky gained major juice in Queens as well as already having those parts of Brooklyn. @MobMan how is that book Andrew Didonato ? Is it a good read ?

I've read Andrew DiDonato's book Surviving the Mob too. Good read, not amazing, but still good. Pretty light, but still an insight into young wiseguy life in the 80s.

Based on that book I'd say Nicky Corozzo wouldn't really be that good of a boss. Comes across as very aggressive and greedy.

Wasnt that guy tony lee the capo after fat andy. He went to trial with gotti lot of pics of them together. Wonder what happend to him after the trial think he died not long after.

He might have been acting at one time or another but for most his life he was a soldier along with his brother Mike,They both lived out on and did had alot going on in nassau and mainly Suffolk county Long island ,Mike i think lived in East Islip and i think Tony Lee was in Shirley.I forgot about Tony Lee, I think he died years ago ! Out of all those guys Ronnie one Arm was the most Notorious, Influentisl,Ruthless and wealthiest guy out there for over 15 years, He was a household name in all those area's and recruited like the U.S.Army , He had a literal Battalion behind him and was involved in so many rackets it made your head spin !

Going back to Nicky , The Feds would never allow him to get his hooks in again, They knew If Nicky stayed on the street long enough and got settled in and ever got that Top Spot they'd have a huge problem on their hands !! They didnt want another Ruthless, Cunning, Powerful guy like Gotti in there! Nicky should stay home and retire when he gets out, The Feds will be looking to get a death certificate outta him !

Been around ,yes he was a big name in canarsie, he was all flash, big ego, he wanted to have a 100 guys around him. thats how he gets jammed up bringing new guys into his world, he is very well off, has been for decades. he will die as a C.N guy.he will never back up.he did a lot of time he is not going to wither away.he has earned his right to stay a captain..he wears it well, in my opinion he wants to be the boss but would be a huge liability to the family just like gotti well all the gotti's
