http://www.ganglandnews.com/RICO Charges Coming In White Plains For Westchester-Based Luchese Leaders Gang Land Exclusive!Steven CreaFederal prosecutors in Manhattan plan to hit the two top leaders of the Luchese crime family with racketeering charges as part of their investigation into the 2013 gangland style slaying of Michael Meldish, the former leader of the notorious Purple Gang, Gang land has learned. Law enforcement sources say the family's two top wiseguys, Steven (Stevie Wonder) Crea and Matthew (Matty) Madonna, are the main targets of a long-running grand jury probe that resulted in last month's indictment of two underlings for the Meldish murder. Crea's and Madonna's specific mob titles vary depending on whom you ask and when you pose the question, but sources agree that the duo is running the crime family for imprisoned-for-life boss, Vittorio (Vic) Amuso. Prosecutors will ask the grand jury to indict Madonna, 81, for ordering the Meldish rubout that defendants Christopher Londonio and Terrence Caldwell allegedly carried out on November 15, 2013, the sources say. Madonna began serving an indeterminate sentence of up to five years for bookmaking in a New Jersey state prison 18 months ago. Sources told Gang Land this week that despite his incarceration, he is the acting boss. It's doubtful that Crea, 69, whom law enforcement sources say is the official family underboss, will be charged with any complicity in the murder. http://aboutthemafia.com/lucchese-family...ng-rico-chargesLucchese family leaders Steven Crea and Matthew Madonna targets of upcoming RICO charges March 9, 2017 By TheBoss Federal prosecutors are planning to charge Lucchese crime family leaders Steven (Stevie Wonder) Crea and Matthew (Matty) Madonna with racketeering charges according to a GanglandNews report. The charges stem from a long-running grade jury probe which included the investigation into the 2013 mafia hit on mob associate and former Purple Gang leader Michael Meldish. According to law enforcement, Crea and Madonna are the top two ranking members and are in control of the New York mafia family while official boss Vittorio Amuso serves a life sentence. Various reports have ranked Crea as the families current acting boss but some law enforcement sources believe he may have been acting as underboss behind Madonna but regardless of official titles its agreed they are in control. “Matthew Madonna” A grand jury will be asked to indict Madonna for ordering the mob rubout of Meldish which was allegedly carried out by mob underlings Christopher Londonio and Terrence Caldwell. Both Londonio and Caldwell were indicted last month previously reported here for their alleged role in the Meldish murder who was killed after he had a falling out with family leaders. It is still unclear as to the exact charges prosecutors plan to hit Crea with. According to the report, both Crea and Madonna were the main targets of the probe which may also include an indictment of Crea’s son Steven (Stevie Junior) Crea Jr. on racketeering charges who authorities claim is also a “made man” in the Cosa Nostra family. Crea Jr has no criminal record but law enforcement sources believe he has been involved in various criminal activities in Westchester County. “Steven Crea” The court filing indicates that federal prosecutors told White Plains Federal Judge Nelson Roman that unnamed high-ranking members of the Lucchese family were involved in the Meldish murder. Prosecutors claimed they have “proof to show that Londonio was commissioned to commit the murder of Meldish by the leadership of the Lucchese Family.” They also explained in a four-page letter to the judge that the Lucchese family “is heavily tied to Westchester County.” The case was filed in White Plains even though Meldish was killed in the city because according to prosecutors a substantial part of the planning and execution occurred in Westchester County. It was noted that several Lucchese family leaders and Londonio were all residents of Westchester.

Crea Jr. has no criminal record. Anybody know how old he is? I won't be able to research since I'm doing a lot of driving today to meet clients so thanks for any info. I wonder if all the info is from wiretaps or informants. He's 45 I believe.

Read the Gangland column, says Crea is underboss and Madonna is still acting boss in prison So does this mean all along; Madonna had more power on the streets then Crea before he got locked up in the can? (Madonna)

congrats to matthew madonna for being the most active member in LCN who has done the most time in jail. the guy has spent like half his life in the can. wonder what will happen to crea senior here. more importantly, who the next sitting / street admin will be The most active lcn member is Peter Limone that made 33 y in prison and now is the boss of the patriarca family. There are loads of guys that have done decades in prison, it would have to be researched who has done the most. Just taking a quick Matty Madonna has atleast 30 years in prison, I think Sonny Franzese has 30 in total.

Pizzaboy was adamant that Crea's son wasn't in the mob let alone made. He was wrong about a lot of stuff. He always talked the Bronx faction of the Luchese being this close to taking out Gas and Vic, but we know they wouldn't do shit against them when they were on the streets.

I don't think PB would out anyone like Crea Jr no matter what he knew.
misinformation... That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't wanna put anyone's business out there that isn't already out there.

@Moe
I still respect Pizza, but I gotta say I thought the same reading this, like "Wow, he kinda had this wrong..." I don't know if the original Meldish thread is still active or viewable but I'm pretty sure Pizza said the hit was nothing to do with LCN because nobody would sanction a hit in the neighbourhood where it took place. His reasoning was that too many high ranking guys live there and they wouldn't sanction it too close to home. It makes/made sense, but these guys don't always do things by the book. Or maybe he was just trying to divert attention away from it which I totally understand. This isn't a tirade against PB, I respect him and miss his posts.
