I have only scan speculate on few details about Little Nicky's youth. Leonetti's book shows Uncle Nick basically being his big brother/father for him when he was in his 20's. I read Leonetti's book 4-5 years ago and know that Leonetti's dad was never around BUT, I don't know where Little Nicky's dad was? I know that his Uncle's were involved early. The Piccolo's...I also think that those were Little Nicky's mother's brothers? Yes?
Was Nicky's dad ever a mob member? What did he do? When did he die?
Reason I even wonder about this is, I have a deep desire to understand so many people's actions in life BUT, I also believe that no one should ever form an opinion on anyone else unless they have walked a mile in their shoes.....Being that I was a drug addict, I could not understand why some people just don't make it out but, once I started to hear their beginnings, I was able to get a better understanding......I recognized that I was blessed to grow up in a perfect home(from my perspective) 1 Mom, 1 Dad, loving environment. I had no excuses. A lot of others do have valid reasons for harboring hate.
The reality is, not everyone is dealt 2 aces in the first hand of a Texas Hold Em tournament, some are dealt 2 & 7 or 2 & 8.... Now I know for a fact that just because you were dealt a bad hand from the start, does not mean that you cannot rise to the top and still win it all.
About Nicky.....Did he win it all? NO!... he spent the last 27-28 years in a cell. I know his mother tried to get him out of the life but he held on to a bad hand he was dealt early and just NEVER let go of it.
Any info is appreciated.

http://mafiamembershipcharts.blogspot.com/2016/01/genovese-family-bios-of-early-members.htmlYou'll have to scroll down to find Scarfo's bio. This source mention his father Phil Scarfo was a soldier in the Luciano Family who lived in Brooklyn before moving to Jersey in the 1930's as well as a few other notes. It also acknowledges that in Phil Leonetti's book Phil claims Nick's father Phil was never involved in cosa nostra.

A Genovese member/associate and there were some relatives named Scarfò in NY who were allegedly part of the Siderno Group.

Like others have stated, Scarfo's dad was apparently a legit guy according to Phil. But others have claimed he was possibly a member of the Genovese family. I know the Scarfo and Piccolo families were living in NYC around the late 1920s, early 1930s so there's a chance Scarfo's dad was an associate during that period. This would have been years before Phil was born so it's possible if he had any involvement it was over by the 1950s. I believe, although I'm not positive, that Anthony Piccolo mentioned his father was an associate in NYC around that time. Maybe the Piccolos got their start in NYC before coming to Philly? Did jr scarfo appeals get affirmed. Then its a wrap for the guy. Last I saw, George Anastasia was writing about appeals starting but then he didn't follow up with any new info afterwards. I'd be curious to know what the outcome was too.
