I've always been curious about how the real Paul Vario and Jimmy Burke sounded.

Vic Amuso was supposed to have a squeaky voice. I know Anthony Casso was a lunatic just by hearing him talk; I want to hear if Amuso was on the same level.

This reminds me of that one episode of King of Queens where Patton Oswalt coaches Leah Remini on how to lose her street accent.

Big Paul sounds very different to what I had in mind. I figured he’d be old man
like, speaking slow & gruffy croaky voice

But he was total opposite/ very clear talkative voice

Im pretty sure I heard some wiretaps of Gigante on Yiutube a while ago one of those documentaries you can find

I'm pretty sure it's 80's 90's

For some reason I thought Castellano would have a genteel accent, perhaps because I was coached into thinking that he wasn't a street guy by reading about Gravano and Gotti.

I listened to the Avellino wiretaps though and the guy sounds as street as they come, a real wiseguy caricature.

Paul Casttellano dropped out of school like a lot of these guys very young I think the 8th grade Im not surprised he sounded like he did.
A lot of these guys sound like idiots.Frank Costello sure didn't sound smart He had poor gramer and used a lot of double negatives

That one episode of mobsters they have that short phone call Gigant made, and 60 minutes had a video of him being interviewed by a doctor and Gigante telling him that they brought him in through the roof lol

That's pretty good...Marcello at the congressional hearing shows just how inept congress is...They grandstand and ask good questions and clearly stumped Marcello with a simple question..To name one customer he sells tomatoes too and he couldn't do it...But what did congress ever do about it ?? I’d absolutely love to hear more of Crazy Joe Gallo, I heard him briefly in the clip of him pleading the 5th in front of the McClellan Committee but it just wasn’t enough for me as I liked the way he talked it reminded me of the gangsters from the movies which is very fitting for him. I’d also love to hear Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, Albert Anastasia, and Bugsy Siegel. Great question by the way! smile

Cool site, is that really Albert Anastasia speaking about the unions? He looks and sounds completely different than the guy in the video of Anastasia speaking in front of his house in New Jersey. There looks to be a long time between events though.
