The author is a guy who knew Joey Gallo personally and wrote 2 other books.I think its long overdue i cant believe its taken this many years for someone to write a story about the snake

Persico's real nickname was and is Junior, according to every credible source.The snake is a name given to him by the media. Frank DiMatteo was involved with the show Mob Wives, and was a friend of the Gallos, or at least so he claims.

i think frank is the guy who had a magazine called mob candy? not sure. Tiger we read it and maybe his dad passed along some great stories, but when i hear 60 murders..he had to kill one and a half people starting at birth

Yeah he said that carmine Persico Personally killed 60 people and ordered hundreds more.I know carmine was a bad mother fucker but personally killing 60 guys is ludicrous.From 17 which was his first murder to when he got locked up at 51 plus before that he spent 6 years in prison he was only out on the streets for under 28 years so he would had to kill 2 people a year.But by the time he was 35 he was really high up so he had no need to get his hands dirty.There is absolutely no need to embellish carmines story he had a very interesting life.I honestly cant think of any other modern day mobster who had a more interesting life than CP

Frank DiMatteo father Richard was a driver and bodyguard for Larry Gallo after the attempted strangulation, and remained in that position until Larry died in 1968. I don't believe Ricky ever drove for Joe Gallo unless it was when Pete the Greek was unavailable which was rare. Joey Gallo two drivers before Pete were killed. Frank DiMatteo mentor and Godfather is Robert "Bobby" Bongiovi who was sentenced to life in the early 1970's, when that happened, Frank and another associate of the crew left the life, right before Kid Blast had the problems with Basciano and Cutrone.

No problem. Richard was also one of the shooters on the attempt on Persico life that wounded both him and D'Ambrosio on May 19, 1963. Frank DiMatteo uncle, Joe Ships was a soldier in the Genovese family that introduced Richard to his capo Anthony Carafano who gave him a job as a bouncer at one of his club. Not long after that Richard met Anthony Strollo and also worked as a bouncer at one of his clubs on recommendation from Tommy Eboli and Vincent Gigante, who knew Richard from his boxing days. At the clubs, he ran into the Gallo brothers Larry and Joe and became friends. When Carafano was killed, Richard began working for the Gallo brothers. Frank DiMatteo also has a cousin through marriage that is also currently a made member in the Genovese crime family.
