I don't know how well known this story is or how much insight you guys have, but there was actually a homosexual associate of the Vario Crew named "Frankie The Fag" who was apparently good friends with Henry Hill. I don't mean to be derogatory by using that word. That was his actual street name. There have been a couple Henry Hill interviews where he mentioned being close to this guy Frankie. I remember during one Howard Stern interview a frequent caller named Paulie who was connected was breaking Henry's balls about being friends with "fags" and Henry defended him saying "I loved fag. He was a nice guy."

That got me thinking, does anyone know who this Frankie character actually was, and how did a known homosexual make it as a mob associate in the Lucchese Family? Were there any other homosexual mobsters, made or not? It seems like something that would be strongly opposed and even enough to get you whacked in some families.

Nice long, informative read. Yes of course there's gay mobsters. The mob just wants $. Matty the horse one of the most famous and powerful Genovese members in history used to own gay bars in time squares/extorted them. Is there hard liners? Of course. But just like Frank Cali and his black gf back in the day, it comes down to $, not what you are laying pipes into.

I read on Bitterqueen that a few mobsters had free "privileges" at the gay clubs they had stakes in back in the day.

Hopefully this won't upset anyone, but Carlo Gambino and Joe Bonanno always struck me as effeminate. Bonanno in particular seemed a little too enamored of Maranzano in his autobiographical description of him.

It's cogent to mention that gay people are born that way. They can't help what they are. And as long as they aren't bothering anyone, who cares?

There are probably mobsters out there with gay children and we don't know about it.

If you wonder why society is so low today, you can thank the homosexual community in part. I believe it's got to do with what kids experience in their very early years and during childhood / teenage years.

This is why I can't emphasise enough to my friends that it's important to be around your kid from the very beginning, teach him right from wrong and give him the occasional slap if he's out of order, teach him boxing when the kid is 5 years old..

The Chin's daughter is gay & wrote her memoir about how painful it was 2 live w/ the fact b-cause her family was so negative about such things back then..a good read also.
