Watching some of the Mob Talk sitdowns.. i'm noticing some new faces.. Anyone know of who some of these new guys are? I know Mazzones have some younger kids.... I see a young kid always with ligambi as well.

The young kid you always see with Ligambi is Mikey Emma, Jr. He is Mousie’s nephew and also close with Dom Grande. He used to be with Dom Grande a lot now you always see him with Ligambi.

There’s tons of young wannabes and associates in South Philly, trust me....

The younger Mazzone you see is Anthony, who is Steve and Sonnys nephew. He is a real estate agent and not involved and is only around a lot because they are his family and very close. Very very nice kid....absolutely not involved. The other you are referring too with Joe a lot is Mikey Emma. Mousie is his Uncle and yeah he is with Dom a lot but they friends since kids. He just got a new BMW and is always riding around.

Yeah he is. Standup kid. Neighborhood kid. Like ten years ago at the diner him and Joey Baldino caught agg assault charges. Beat some dudes face with a napkin holder and Mikey stabbed dude a few times with a fork.

Listen, Dom is a really good dude. Lot of eyes on him so he can do as he sees fit.

I won't get into anything recent with Mikey. I think you are confusing a few things. I don't know of Johnny having a son. Are you thinking of his little brother Stevie? He's in into some stuff. I remember Johnny got arrested back in the day for stabbing some singer at Deco but that was like 15 years ago...

When we were teens we knew who everyone was it did not take long and we were all raised the same so some of our offspring did not fall far from the tree .

I think some of it has to do with Joey Merlino's looks strangely enough. A young, good looking guy (don't take my word for it) who local journalists and TV stations keep getting soundbites from, unwittingly perpetuating a glamorous image of the mob to impressionable kids and teenagers. We're talking ages 13-19 when he was at his peak. A lot of the guys who post about Philly and a lot of the hangers-on seem to be early-thirties to mid-thirties. They probably listened to Joey Merlino being interviewed about sports teams, saw him on the news channeling Gotti by giving away turkeys/helping his PR, and heard about his "friendships" with hockey players and thought "this guy's pretty cool".

A lot of these guys probably had pictures of him in their bedrooms, like a teen idol or something.

I mean, there has got to be some reason why, per capita, there is more interest in the mob in Philly then there is anywhere else (it's dormant in most of the country). I'm presuming if the head cheese in Philly looked like Phil Testa and had the presence of Angelo Bruno a lot of these young men wouldn't give a shit?

People see Joey on tv but thats not him. He is a very nice, very loyal and respectful and much more soft spoken than the media make you think. He will talk with anyone and will not look down on someone like he's better than them. His girls Sophia and Nicolette go/went to Villanova and are great girls. Soph dates Colton Welker who plays for the Rockies. Nice kid. Told me he went to Parkland HS and road on the same bus as that crazed mass shooter for a year. None of the guys coming up didn't know Joey since we was kids. Nobody knew Roggie Vella growing up and look how that turned out.

I’ve met Merlino twice since 2014 and he’s been nothing but very nice- PhillyGuy you’re absolutely right on that. BUT I think he’s also grown up a lot. He sounds like a much more mature person/boss/mobster than he was in the 80s and even the 90s...

I'm positive you guys have met him on a superficial level, nothing more than going up to him to seek an autograph or ask for a picture with him.

I guarantee you if I went up to a random mobster in Philadelphia and said I was a tourist from some podunk town in Nebraska and I'm a big aficionado of the mob they would probably get a kick out of me, too.
