Do your math again it's a lot more than 300k a year....would be $1,560,000 at 3 points a week.... Yes you are right, even if he splits the vig with collectors that’s 750k. I don’t know how it works with kick ups and such but there are knock down loans, penalty points etc. I would be fricking happy withhalf that a year but I’m not wired for greed anymore. I figure the money I made from my crimes and can time I would have been better off squared up punching a clock for sure. A mastermind I was not nor will be.

Was Cali underboss or boss? Underboss. Bruce Mouw said Cali was UB and Cefalu is still boss. NBC said 2 separate LE sources say Cali was UB. Cefalú has been boss the entire time. He is the top guy.

So if Cali is UB doesn't that rule out a power struggle theory? Who takes his place? Thoughts? No it’s possible Dom is going along with whatever this is and it’s possible Frankie did not want to take a step back or was not willing to split something and the people we’re sending a message to the rest of the family that if you push back you will go. Then there is the other possibility that he did someone bad and that guy got this plot in his head and now he will be dead if it’s from a outsider so that’s a lose lose for him or them. The guys that would have done this are possible up in age and they know there is not time for it to come natural or they don’t care and have just made there way up much quicker. But someone above him or and just below him are in with whatever is going on , otherwise the guy above him would of went first unless Frankie had more pull overseas smart to take Frank first.

TMZ caught up with Giovanni Russo (he played Carlo in Godfather 1, and is pretty close with some people in the life. Tommy Belotti was the best man in his wedding and Castellano was a friend of his, too). He said he wasn’t friends with Cali but met him a few times. He said he didn’t think it was an internal Gambino thing because they never woulda killed him like that. He said he thought Cali was making a lot of money in drugs, and was probably hurting the bottom line of whoever did it. https://youtu.be/6qIXFtCvew8Once again.. A comment by a Nobody.. Russo is a outsider just like many.. He's trying to stay relevant.

I appreciate your post but Giovanni Gambino is a Nobody... He’s a total loser and a wannabe writing his little fan fiction.

LE saying it was a mob hit . Serp, the more I read and see news reports the more I think this was personal beef and not mob related. Only time would tell. But the fact that he was killed in front of his house smells to me. To many cameras in Staten Island. LE seemed to imply that the CCTV footage captured was grainy and unable to capture any identifying features. Maybe the hitter/s knew of the shoddy CCTV quality beforehand and hoodie and/or cap was enough of a precautionary measure?

@Beenshooter.
Very fishy for him to be murdered infront of his home but its still not uncommon. Well atleast historically.
Angelo Bruno killed infront of his home. Sam Giancana killed in his home while cooking The Riccobene brother was shot and killed infront of his mother. Phil Testa blown to pieces at home Greg Scarpa and family were nearly killed infront of their home.
Who ever killed him; Wanted him gone. Fat Pete Chiodo's civilian sister ambushed in car outside her home. Vinnie Fusaro killed outside his home by Greg Scarpa while hanging Christmas lights on his garage during the Colombo war in the 90s. Nicky Grancio was killed by Scarpa's crew while in the presence of his nephew, who was hit with fragments.

I bet the gambinos we’re responsible for getting that big 77$ millions dollar coke shipment in safely and when it got busted they wanted him to pay up and he said no and then they whacked his ass. That drug shipment belongs to Mexicans , you cant organize a murder of man like Cali in 4 days. Good point and how do you know it belongs to the Mexicans

canada stuff seems to be mostly an lcn stuff They are all mobsters/LCN but it is not like they are fighting over traditional rackets. It's primarily over distribution channels for cocaine and heroin. While always being an underlying income source for LCN, its not the traditional stuff a boss of a Five Families family gets knocked off for. The Rizzuto's goldmine was drug distribution through Canadian ports operating through the Cuntera-Caruana clan. It wasn't someone trying to eliminate Rizzuto to take over as head of MTL, it was someone trying to eliminate them completely to take over the drug importation. Actually it was someone (Montagna/Bonannos) wanting to regain control in Montreal from the rogue Rizzutos first and foremost with the drug pipelines being a nice addition. But it was primarly a take-over in order to install a new (Bonanno) regime. I wonder what Tag would think of this. I certainly never saw this coming, I bet many mobsters in New York neither. Interesting how this will play out. It will probably be quiet for a while. A mob war with all this heat will put all the families in a very tough spot now that they were finally catching a break. They have to thread very carefully now, but sooner or later there has to be a response. Would be absolutely crazy if more bodies will be dropping soon. Back in the days there would be a big meeting between all the bosses but they can't afford to do that anymore, so intermediaries will be used in order to deal with this crisis and find a suitable solution. Key people in MTL were going down or being targetted prior to Sal's arrival. He did immediately insert himself into it though seeing he could capitalize on a power vacuum. It's believed by a lot that it was the Ontario clans trying to move in on MTL by supporting Di Maulo and Raynald Desjardins. It's an outdated theory. Have you read Daniel Renaud's books on the Montreal mob war and Vito Rizzutto, as well as the book by Joe Di Maulo's daughter? There's been tons of discussion about this with a wealth of info provided by several posters on the BH forum. But let's not derail this thread with this discission.

With the way the LE is in the US, I'm having a hard time believing that this would be internal or American LCN related. This is either coming from Canada or Italy, and seeing how Cali has Sicilian connections and the Gambinos doing business with mobsters from Toronto, Canada seems like a good candidate here. This possibly all goes back to drug trafficking/distribution. I think it's best for American mobsters to get out of the drug game and stick to safer routes like construction and gambling.
