Anyone ever see the movie 1900 with Robert Deniro, Gerard Depardieu, Donald Sutherland and various others? What is your opinion of the film?

And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.

I've been wondering about this film. I want a copy to put in my "Bobby Shrine." I'll have to talk someone into getting me a used copy .

The full five and a half hour cut of this film has never been released on home video in the United States, but I believe there is a PAL VHS tape with English subtitles. The American cut is supposedly a mess, but the full version is considered by many to be a masterpiece. If it is half as good as The Conformist, then it will still be incredible. And, as always, Vittorio Storaro's cinematography is probably great.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were talking about The Legend of 1900, with Tim Roth. One of the best movies ever made. Has anyone seen it?
