I really cannot understand how those mob guys view "money". Many of them don't have education and some even got legitimate businesses without ever studying. How that happens that most normal and educated people work low paying jobs, and uneducated mobster got businesses. I'm not talking just about the shakedowns, I've read some of the mobsters actually ran pretty big and successful businesses that were legal.

I know six business owners (just off the top of my head) and none of them have an education. All high school drop outs.

My friend has two university degrees, and he works a low paying job.

My point is; education has nothing to do with running a business, despite what your parents and teachers told you.

Studying and education has nothing to do with how much money you have. Almost all richest people on the planet are college dropouts.

You need to have brain for business,nothing else. If you go to uni/college after that you will probably end up working 9-5 and stay middle class or high mid class.

I got bachelor's degree and last year i got master's degree and i don't need it for shit.With or without it,wouldn't affect the money i make.

People think you go to school and become a doctor and you're set. From what I've seen, unless you work for a practice or a hospital, doctors are running a business. Most of the residents i talk to at my hospital also get an mba as well. Like everyone else on this thread is saying, the richest people that I know didn't go to college to earn their money. Some may have gone to college to appease their parents, but their business were made by strong work ethic, connections, and being business savvy. A college professor was said, "You don't go to college to get rich. You're here to get a broader knowledge of the world."

A lot of them got those businesses because the owner became indebted to them and couldn't pay. Or, even if a gangster starts his own legitimate business, he has an advantage over other businessmen. Are you going to turn him in if he is violating regulations? And some of those businesses might just be to launder the tax free money they are getting from illegal sources. I think some of them have business expertise, but a lot of them are just stealing other's hard work.
