Franzese was making the most money through it along with his friend Iorizzo. The Luccheses had a hand in it but I don’t think they were making money like Franzese and Iorizzo were.

Casso said he made more money from gas than anything. But as much money as he made from it, Franzese made even more. Casso made a lot of money with many different rackets so that shows you how much having even a minority piece in the gas scam could get you.

Here is a short article on Iorizzo. Like Franzese he made tens of millions for himself off gasoline alone. You would think that money would buy you more power but I’ve seen people on here say that Franzese didn’t have as much power as others in the Colombo family even though he was making way more than them.

Notice the difference it the figures Franzese talks about and what actually happened. If you watch his interviews from the early 90s it used to be 100 million total the stole over 5 years. Now it’s grown to millions a week bullshit

In his book, he says he made between 5-8 mil a week. But also in the book, they said if you followed the gas sales from Gallion, it was something like 100 million worth of gas a month......

I believe Franzese’s figures. Of course there’s no way to tell. I don’t think he was making all that money himself because all of that money had to be divided between others involved. I just think it’s impressive that he was able to make that kind of money without putting himself at risk by getting involved in the drug trade. I think the smartest gangsters were the ones who were able to substitute income that they could be getting through the drug trade with other lucrative rackets.

Does his book give more information than what he says in his interviews or does he pretty much cover everything whenever he speaks about his time in organized crime?
