Who are some guys who were tolerated due to their earning's?? There are instances where a boss wanted a guy murdered but couldn't do it because of the income that was coming in by that guy or he was just likable by many others in the family.
I'll start by saying Anthony Mirra This guy was hated by most of the Bonanno family; Think he was kept around because of his uncle Al Embarrato; He uncle was a captain. Mirra could also earn to keep the bosses happy.

Mafia Summit claims that the whole commission put Carmine Lombardozzi on the carpet during Apalachin. It was one of the subjects they were supposed to discuss, implying more than the Gambinos earned a slice of his income. They decided he was too good of an earner to axe (literally) but he had been skimming. That is who I was going to mention. Lombardozzi was an informant as well.

Tony Mirra definitely comes to mind. I'm drawing a blank on this one...

jimmy burke Salvatore Granello was killed in 1970 because introdused verious mobsters to fbi undercover agent and Genovese can't protect him. Another theory was that Granello vowed revenge for his son death. http://gangstersinc.ning.com/profil...e-of-genovese-crime-family-mobster-salvaWhile in prison in 1968, Granello got news no parent ever wants to hear: his son Michael had been murdered. It couldn’t have been a surprise. 19-year-old Michael was a drug addict who earned his money by playing Russian roulette: He robbed members of the Mafia. Taking after his father’s violent streak, Michael once beat a mobster half to death with a baseball bat during a robbery. The mob wasn’t having it and shot-gunned young Michael to death while he was sitting in his car.

I have heard the same about Papalia in Canada not being loved by others in Canada, any truth to him being loved NYC. Johnny New York I think I have heard others say
In Sicily, women are more dangerous than the shotgun.

It was a mix in New York and New Jersey for John Papalia. The Bonanno family is a good example. Those that supported the Rizzutos got along great with John Papalia, those that supported the Cotronis hated him as he used that family's name in a couple of dealings and didnt give any money to the Cotronis except one time when Buffalo and Toronto made him give a percent, the Cotroni were asking for ten percent but the ruling turned into Cotroni taking twenty percent, Toronto splitting 10 percent and Buffalo getting a guy in a key legitimate business in Canada. Johnny Papalia was no fan of Phil Rastelli, Phil Ciaccone, Joe Massino, or Dominick Napolitano, but was a fan of Alphonse Indelicato due to him cheating the Rizzutos in a drug deal, Carmine Galante, Joe Zicarelli, and Gabriel Infante. The Colombos, loved by Aniello Giannattasio, John Oddo, and Charles Panarella, not a fan of his, John Misuraca, and Frank Fusco. The Gambino Family, he feared Aniello Dellacroce the two respected each other, James Failla, Angelo Mascia, Frank Perrone, and John Riccobono. Those that hated him were Paul Castellano, Paolo Gambino who made trips to Toronto and ever time he visited the city there was something that Papalia had done to cause him headaches, and Giuseppe Traina. I have not come across anything from the Genovese or Lucchese crime families on their dealings with him.

Wow, that’s some really cool detail. That’s quite the circle to be known in whether loved or not. Any Hollywood truth related to Papalia being know similarly to the people around Jack Kennedy both showbiz talent and in wiseguys in Chicago , Tampa,New Orleans

Camine the doc and granello did all types of dirty stuff but the money they made saved theres lives well not in granello case. How much money could Granello have been making for people to tolerate some of the stuff he was accused of doing? He’d really have to be making what Franzese was allegedly making if not more.
