I haven't posted in a while; but I was wondering; Are there any guys still alive who may be retired or active that was made a Captain by an original or semi-original boss; etc... Carlo Gambino; Albert Anastasia; Joe Bonanno; Corallo; Genovese; Profaci; Tom Lucchese; Rastelli.

Only one I can think of is Anthony Scotto; He was appointed a Captain by Carlo Gambino. He's retired; but he's still alive running a resteraunt. Any other old captains out there who was appointed by one of the old 1930's or 1985 commission bosses.

I was reading about Anthony Scotto today and he's only in his mid 80s. Frank Locascio is 87 and was likely made a soldier by Carlo Gambino. Thomas Gambino probably remembers meeting the originals in the late 1930s as a kid. There is alot of guys in 80s/90s from the Gambino and Genovese family

There will be others but I can't think of any.

Anthony Scotto is lucky. You got that guy becoming a captain and running a union under Carlo Gambino. You have Paul Castellano ranting and raving on wiretap that Scotto might become president or something along those lines. Guy did his time in the can and is legitimate as they come today. Never got whacked on the streets or died in prison like most of his contemporaries.

Frank Locascio... I think he was made when Albert Anatasia was boss.

rastelli was technically boss in 1987 he made louie haha a capo i think he still around today. gene gotti was inducted they say in dec 1976 but he was only a soldier in wagons crew that became johns crew. when john became boss he made gene the capo of his old crew. frank locacio was made a capo by john gotti in 86 when he took over. there probaly not many. sonny franzese was a capo and maybe underboss for colombo or acting underboss but then he went to jail for along time.

On the Ravenite tapes, Locascio says he was made when he was 23, so it would've been by Anastasia.


Does anyone know if Vinny Aloi is still alive? He was acting boss in the early 70s so would've most likely been made by Profaci and promoted to capo by Colombo.

Mario Gigante was made when Vito Genovese was still a caporegime. So he was made under Luciano or Costello.

He's ancient. Refering to Mario Gigante. I just read he was a made guy in the crew of Vito Genovese when he was a captain. Willie Moretti was Underboss and got whacked not long after but still... I'm 26 and to hear that and he's still alive.. no words.


Anyone know how Vito Genovese felt about Mario Gigante? He was close to Chin but not much info about how close he was to his brother Mario.

According to Selwyn Raab all four Gigante brothers were very loyal to Genovese later on Vincent and Mario headed seperate crews.
