You have to hand it to Michael Franzese's marketing strategy. Sure he allows these interviewers, documentary producers etc refer to him as a "boss" which is total bullshit, but a) he knows anymore there won't be consequences for something like that, and b) he knew other defectors, drop outs, etc. like Sammy would eventually be having these shows too and if he establishes the brand of "boss" first, the rest look like phonies no matter their background.

I do think most of those shows use the term "Mob boss", not because it's technically correct or not, but because it's more catchy to the general public than saying "Mom captain". And the general public is their target audience.

Ive looked and looked for a wild bill in the irish mob from brooklyn and cant even find the father's last name. Its strange and purposely being hid. So articles have his father being wild bill cutola which is obviously not correct. Then i saw one preview where there showing an article on the cover of the daily news saying wild bill -westies- brooklyn, etc. It flashes by fast but that baffled me even more. As far as i know the last brooklyn irish crew died on the late 1940s early 50s will wild bill Lovett. But the article and paper looked late 70's/80s in the preview and said westies. I always heard that there was a westies wing out of bayridge back when Coonan ran the show but i could never find proof or names to back it up, let alone press clippings. Perplexing.
