CAROLLO, Salvatore "Sam" 83, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on December 29, 2020 in the privacy of his own home. Sam was born in Caccamo, Sicily and moved to Chicago at an early age. Eventually his ambition lead him to Florida where he was one of the founding developers of what would become Wesley Chapel, Florida. Sam involved himself in many different businesses throughout his life including Golf Course ownership and always construction. Sam loved anything and everything to do with Construction /Building/Development. Sam was loved by many. He was a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by Andre, George, Santo, Josephine and nine grandchildren with five great-grandchildren. Sam was admired and endeared by many and he captivated people throughout his life. His friends were very important to Sam. Sam was laid to rest at the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, Florida at a private event on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Carollo was named in 1991 by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as one of the "new generation" of Tampa mafioso, though he was in his early 50s at the time. He was named in the 1992 Key Bank indictment and indicted for fraud in 1994. He started as a developer of the Tampa Downs development in the early 1970s and later the Quail Hollow Development in the 1980s. He was close to Vincent LoScalzo.
