March 2, 2022 – New York mafia associate Pete (Peter Pan) Tuccio was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for extortion this week. The 29-year old “up-and-comer,” who is connected to leaders in the Lucchese, Gambino and Bruno-Scarfo crime families, copped a plea to his charges last year.

The Lucchese and Gambino crime families are based out of the Big Apple, while the Bruno-Scarfo crime family is headquartered out of Philadelphia and North New Jersey. Five years ago, Tuccio became close friends with Bruno-Scarfo clan don Joseph (Skinny Joey) Merlino and quickly began serving as Merlino’s driver and bodyguard whenever Merlino visited New York City. The belief of many following Tuccio’s case is that he is getting jammed even harder than he would be normally due to his ties to Merlino, the No. 1 target for law enforcement in Pennsylvania dating back to the early 1990s.

Tuccio’s uncle is the Lucchese’s Little Italy capo in Manhattan, Joeseph (Joe Cafe) DeSena. His case stems from a shakedown he did for deceased Gambino crew boss Ignazio (Uncle Iggy) Alonga in December 2015 where a Queens pizza parlor owner had his Mercedes-Benz set on fire for stopping sending tribute payments to the Gambinos for protection

A pre-sentencing memo filed last November alleges Tuccio also made debt collections for DeSena’s Lucchese’s Borgata and New York’s Bonanno crime family — he’s never been charged in either alleged incident. One NYC mob blogger reported last winter that Tuccio fell out of favor with Bonanno shot callers and was physically assaulted after sending disrespectful text messages.

Alonga died of cancer in 2016. Merlino, 59, has lived in Florida for the past decade and, according to the FBI, oversees mob affairs in Philly and North Jersey from afar, using a series of buffers and street bosses.

So he's going to spend the better part of his 30s in prison.

I don't think there is parole in the federal system. He might get some time off for good behavior, but he will probably do 8 or 9 years.

He's 29 y old,he will be in his 37/38 years. Maybe will find a mentor in prison.

People here are making fun of him, buy he took his time without complaints. He obviously could have ratted at any point, he hasn't. I bet the ones here saying derogatory things would not have the guts to even say half of that to him. What puzzles me is how he became such big topic, primarily off that photo of him and Merlino. No one knew of him a few years ago, now he has long threads devoted to him.

Jace,you're right but he can follow his way in the mob using his uncle but thanks to the photo with Merlino,he get the spotlight and an harsh first sentence. And who know,maybe will regret to have spend so much time in prison or wil become a rising star.

He can try. But unless there was something wrong with his trial, the judge will let it stand.

Like that heartless animal that stabbed to death an Italian student last December. He turned out to be a felon with gang connections and tons of serious priors but was constantly paroled out of short jail terms.

@Merlino I'm confused. You're calling him a slug and a dumb person, yet with the current landscape of the mob, this is what the recruitment pool looks like. We talk about it all the time on here. The younger generation italians have moved on to other sectors and not a life of crime. This kid is obv around some pretty known guys. He's taking his pinch like a man. We talk about who's coming up, who's left, bla bla. Yet this kid is trying to come up, but now he's a bum cause he took a pinch?

The kid got it stuck in his ass because he's an idiot. He wanted to plaster his face all over town posing for pics with Joey Merlino (a notorious guy) and other guys. He wanted to "play" the part. Unfortunately for this young man he's now gotta actually "live" the part.

And that is that the court system and the justice department abused their power to no end in order to "make a statement" here, and to elevate their own careers while riding the "Mafia hysteria train" which is a surefire way to advance themselves. They should all be ashamed! (which they are not).

The kid should have received probation (ever though he's an asshole), or at the worst he should have gotten a lick of prison (6 months, 1 year, at best). And then been put on 5 or even 10 years probation to keep him on the straight and narrow).

It's not just the pictures, though. When Merlino was on trial in New York, this kid was his constant shadow every day--and while Merlino is a snappy dresser, Tuccio is straight out of the Adidas track suit school of fashion. Plenty of people were wondering who the hell he was.

But that does not change the facts of the offense, his "true" background and prior criminal history (or lack thereof), or his novice young age. "10" years for an arson of a car? Where no innocent victims was injured or killed? It's ridiculous! Simply RIDICULOUS!

I don't see him as an asshole, moron, or all the other names he is being called. He may be, none of us have ever met him, or spoken with him. He must have been asked if he could hang out with Merlino while Merlino was in town, a few photos together and now he is the subject of gangland columns, and discussions on the internet. He is not made, may never be made, yet he is getting all this attention. The worst if from LE, which went totally nuts over his being around Merlino. The sentence is way out of line. You could set a person on fire instead of a car and wind up with less time!


This nut was just let out after being arrested for smearing feces is a women's face while she waited for a train, and after arresting him it was found he was wanted for another crime. He is out already. There are thousands like him, and they are out and about
He's more a threat than Tuccio.
