One of the most dangerous gunsels of the old Profaci/Colombo family of Brooklyn was "soldier" Frederick DeLucia. Known to his buddies as Freddy Red and to everybody else as Freddy No Nose, he did more "work" for the borgata than you can shake a stick at. He was one of their most deadly assassins! He was also an extremely colorful underworld figure. A character and a half to say the least.......So keep your peepers peeled folks cause Freddy Red's coming for ya real soon!....only at ButtonGuys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcFr0fYUsvQ - This is Joe Bonanno's mistress.

Just posted up for your reading pleasure.... Vito Impastato, the most important and dangerous "soldier" to ever serve under Springfield, Illinois family boss Frank Zito Irving (Blackie) Horowitz, one of the most important, yet shadowy "politically connected" Genovese family labor-union racketeers to ever operate in New York City Gaspare (Fats) Aiello, a key Licavoli Family "soldier" who served Youngstown, Ohio's underworld as their unofficial "welcome wagon" and "greeter" when other mobsters visited the area. That is until he was "shelved" for misappropriating nearly a half-million dollars in mob money. Vincent (Jimmy) Todaro, Cosa Nostra's resident mafioso in the State of Virginia who handled narcotics shipments in that neck of the woods. Plus an expanded deep-dive "special feature" on The Joseph Barbara Family of Binghamton, N.Y. ...And a whole lot more. Only at ButtonGuys of The New York Mafia. Just type in; www.thenewyorkmafia.com

Fats operated the Big A Lounge directly across the street from the Youngstown Police Department on Boardman St. downtown. Cops ate and drank for free :-)

I don't doubt it. In those days local cops often played ball with local gamblers and racket guys, especially in cities like Youngstown which was notoriously corrupt. My understanding was there was a "no shoot" rule when it came to an altercation between the "wise-guys" and the cops. The "wise-guys" were told not to shoot at a cop, and they didn't!
