I don't know much about Joey Smash but he was apparently a feared enforcer and was a debt collector. He supposedly wasn't the best looking guy and had 2 nicknames, Joe Smash and one which referred to his less than handsome appearance. They mention him in the book "Made Men".

C-Note said it was a good location, he was right. It had to be tough to pick out the right people, there are so many there, and what we see in that short video may've taken hours to do.

Indeed it took some time and patience. After all it's New Yorkers we're talking about here, for every 1 person I got to speak to me on camera, 5+ declined.

Honestly, you should do a long interview of her. Have her talk about what was the life in Brooklyn back then and the presence of the mob. Basically a full version of what she describes in her itw here.


She is a great storyteller and I am sure she has plenty of good stories to tell. You should seriously consider it.
