If Luciano wasn't deported I doubt that they would have hit him, he had the backing of Joe Bonanno, Costello and Luciano.
I believe that is incorrect, in 1957 Carmine Galante met with Luciano and Bonanno in Palermo and it was often said that one of the purposes of the meeting was discuss and plan the killing of Anastasia. That would only leave Costello as an Anastasia supporter.

That meeting was about Narcotics. A couple of Sicilian clans. Trafficking from Europe, to Canada to United States. Canada being the big topic as in the Sicilian clans and the Calabrians were not seeing eye to eye. The Anastasia hit was done by Joe Biondo and some other Gambino crime family members with tactical approval from Genovese and Lucchese. Also if Luciano remained boss, he would have many sitdowns with Albert Anastasia until 1955 as that year he was starting to step on many toes. Luciano would have voted to hit Anastasia, regardless of Anastasia going way back with Luciano, Costello and some of the other members. At that point, double A was a rapid dog that needed to be put down.

Anastasia was killed by his own people, such as Gambino, Armone, and other captains. All his captains but one (Rava?) were in on it. It had nothing to do with Luciano, drugs, or any other conspiracy. He was killed from his own men. Gambino and him were at odds, and according to Bonnano's son Anastasia once almost slapped, or did slap, Gambino. You don't slap your captions and expect to live. Gambino and others wishing took over, any of Anastasia's loyalists were not in any top positions.

Yes that's right but one purpose was also to discuss the killing of Anastasia. Anastasia was dead a week after the Palermo meeting, not a coincidence.

There were not any meetings In Sicily discussing Anastasia, unless people want to believe old myths put out by the FBN and newspapers. It had to have come form New York. Luciano was ou too it by then, he had no say anymore, and it was not his family. The Gambino were not going to let outsiders kill their boss, or let Biondo do it with Luciano. No way.

Iceveins, did you consider asking the Starbucks customers about Anastasia? Maybe a few would have known of him and been surprised that they were in the location of his death, although the structure was changed.

I actually asked the maintenance man who was cleaning the windows and he had no idea what happened there or who Anastasia was - which is kind of a rarity for older, blue collar white males from New York, that's usually a demographic that knows about the old time gangsters.

The old Park Sheraton Hotel on the westside had its name changed many decades ago.
But here's an extra bit of trivia. If I'm not mistaken, besides Albert Anastasia getting his last shave there in 1957, back in the 1920s I believe this is the same hotel Arnold Rothstein was playing cards at when he got his.
There's some you tube guy who drives around new york, showing places / clubs that were the scene of mob history. ie this guy died here, this guy killed someone there etc. Way to many mob related channels popping up. Personally, I prefer mob books. Anyway, the guys channel is mooney (something ).
As for Anastasia killing, I'd go for it being carlo g , other top gambino guys and vito genovese and Tom lucchese. Seeing as AA bumped off the boss Mangano, fairs fair.
Never get the real story, this far down the line.

I've seen one of his vids before but I don't see the value in watching someone just drive around New York with a dashcam. Maybe bc I'm a New Yorker or an actual film editor (prob both) I don't see how that is interesting?
