They're living a house that's gotta be worth $1.5 million or so. That is life changing money for most people. Why on earth would they support that family for years on end? Tall Pete has his own family I guess that all depends on perspective of that life. He was a member and allegedly boss of the family, apparently not murdered due to internal disputes. Even disregard the mafia, let's say your own sister who's husband has been murdered and you have 3 nieces and nephews and when they ask for support you just say sell the house? Maybe you do that in your culture but not mine and not in general Sicilian culture either. There is almost certainly more to the story if there even is a story at all but it doesn't sound likely to me, particularly that this Lanni guy is the one she would be reaching out to which is what the article indicates. It all sounds unlikely to me.

If I was a made guy in that Family, this would be embarrassing for me to read. Highly-respected leader of my Family gets killed and not only are we unable to get any revenge on the asshole who did it, but we can't afford to take care of his family either. These are true words.
