One of my all time favorite movies. Produced by a good friend of mine
. Good Movie. From what I recall it didn’t get much if a theatrical release. I think I saw it on video
It did receive a theatrical release, but it was limited and brief, sadly. The issue was largely attributed to Trimark Pictures, which folded a couple of years later. This is why many low-budget movies fail to receive the recognition they deserve, as they often lack adequate funds for marketing. Even a successful independent studio is always going to be the underdog in a game where the majors control the field.
And that's also why this thread is necessary. There are so many unbelievably good movies out there that never got the proper dues because of these aforementioned facts and others
Yeah, Phoenix is one of my all-time favorites. I especially loved the performances of Ray and LaPaglia. And Brittany Murphy!
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away
This is not a well known film and I haven't seen it in years due to a lack of blu-ray release but THE CURVE (renamed DEAD MAN'S CURVE for some reason), was a solid little film with a great cast (Matthew Lillard, Michael Vartan, Randall Batinkoff, and Keri Russell) and a nice curve at the end (see what I did there).
The most underrated great movie of the Eighties is "True Confessions," starring Robert DeNiro and Robert Duvall, including great performances by Rose Gregorio, Charles Durning and Ken McMillan. https://www.imdb.com/video/vi2498413337/?ref_=tt_vi_i_1
