These guys are nothing to be fucked with. Serious mafiosi.

Based in New York along with Calabria and heavily involved with the Cartels in Mexico.

Who here can provide some insight on this organization?

Aquino is a very common surname in Calabria. In my area - which has a large diaspora community from Calabria - there are a ton of Aquino's lol.

So do these families operate on their own or do they have relations with the Five families?

Operation Solare? That's actually pretty old by now. I'm not sure on the Coluccios presence in NY, but they apparently were expelled from the Camera DiControllo in Canada. They might still be IN Canada, but I can't speak to what capacity it might be.

The weirder, more contemporary development was the indictment of that Comito- Corigliano clan in Glen Cove. They seemed to me kinda outta nowhere. Never heard of them before really.

Also due to this criminal activity, during law enforcement operations, the clan's representatives have been intercepted or arrested throughout the world and in particular in Spain , Portugal , the Netherlands , Canada , the United States , Mexico and the Dominican Republic . In northern Italy, members close to them were detected as well as for drug trafficking for the acquisition of contracts in Milan and Turin.

Exactly Cabrini, just because we don't hear about it doesn't mean it's not taking place and that case proves the point. I try to tell people that all the time.

Judging from their past patterns in other parts of the world I would say a little of both. They rather do networking with existing criminal elements and expand from there. When some are jailed there will always be replaced by other family members. I wouldn't count them out; but in a operational point of view they do operate on their own set of rules. Only blood relation/marriages from other clans can be members.
The Ndrangheta was successful in establishing cells in many parts of the world and it would be foolish for them to by pass America, a country that has one of the most lucrative market in the world.
I believe there are more cells in the US than is known.

They had been there a long time too I think. 20 years at least.... I'm not sure.
