Mafioso Antonio Pietrantonio miraculously escaped an attack Wednesday night in downtown Montreal, QMI Agency has learned. The man nicknamed Tony Suzuki in the underworld escaped unscathed thanks to his quick thinking.

According to our information, the crime was committed around 6 p.m., when the 61-year-old long-time criminal had just gotten out of his car with his daughter, at the corner of Queen and Ottawa streets.

Two vehicles carrying several suspects then stopped near Pietrantonio.

One of the individuals had a knife and another was in possession of a firearm. Their intention was clear: to take down Tony Suzuki.

However, the latter would have had the presence of mind to grab the man with the knife and use it as a "shield" to protect himself from a possible burst of gunfire.

Due to the many witnesses present in the area, the suspects abandoned the project and fled. They had still not been arrested in the aftermath of the events.

The man nicknamed Tony Suzuki, because he once owned a Suzuki dealership, escaped with superficial injuries that did not require transport to the hospital. His daughter was not injured.

This is not the first time that Pietrantonio has come close to death. In December 2011, he was shot in front of a restaurant on Jarry Street, in the Ahuntsic district. Doctors had even feared for his life for a few days following the attack. He had finally recovered from his injuries.

Antonio Pietrantonio has a long criminal record. In the early 1990s, he was sentenced to three years in prison for a vast conspiracy to import 740 kilos of cocaine for which Vito Rizzuto's former right-hand man, Raynald Desjardins, had been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Antonio Pietrantonio was spotted at the lavish wedding of the province's most powerful Hells Angel, Martin Robert, in December 2018, in downtown Montreal.

Lmao this could have just been an attempted robbery. May not even be mob related.

well rush ill assume yer being sarcastic. although the small possibility exists this was a carjacking and 'unrelated' 2 reasons why its not. pietrantonio is part of the robert/plouffe HA alliance he is a target in what reports claim is a still ongoing war between robert/plouffe and the r-s clan over the book. pietrantonio is well known in crime circles as a mafia member and allied with robert and HA. we are to believe this was totally random? despite there being no end to the violence in mtl, the criminal community as in most all other big cities is small compared to the overall population. most civilians dont know criminals by name or face. when doing a total count of known active members of any clan in mtl i got to under 40!!!. plus 80-100 HA and support clubs, street gangs etc. what kinda number of hard core proven criminals across the city would we get? 500, 500-1000 at most, against 2 million non criminals. also when have these car jackers been so blatant to do this at 6pm on a busy street. i can think of the mitch marner case from a few years back thats it.

I think RushStreet has a point. If this was a hit it was unlike every other hit in the war. One of them had a knife? And Tony Suzuki somehow managed to grab him and use him as a shield, like he was John Wick? Something is very off.

Why didn't they just blast him straight away?

Sounds more like an attempted robbery and they probably had no idea who he is.

edit: also I have no idea why this guy doesn't have security around him, or at least one capable guy.

During El Chapo's trial it came out that Tony Suzuki was a huge drug dealer and that he was dealing directly with El Chapo's right hand, Alex Cifuentes. He said they made "dozens of millions" together. If I was him I would shell out some $ for security. lol

Sounds more like a kidnapping attempt, gone wrong.

Not just getting my stripes, something I can't talk about. Something that was ruining my whole life and he made it right. For what I owe him, I would follow that man into hell.
